The Social Network
Re: The Social Network
I thought this was a pretty solid film, not the best film I've seen all year (it's no Black Swan) but good acting and the origin of Facebook was explained pretty well considering how many characters featured in the film.

Re: The Social Network
I saw this for the first time at Shaftesbury Avenue last night thanks to the bafta voucher.
I had obviously heard all the buzz and hype surrounding this but didn't want to go in with any expectations because I didn't want to be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this film! It's a well crafted and superbly told story. The script was excellent. The intercutting between the early scenes and the deposition interviews was achieved brilliantly. Having now seen the film I can safely say it deserves all the oscars nominations it has received, especially Jesse Eisenberg, who was terrific. His character is the soul of the film yet he never alienates audience sympathy despite his tactless and standoffish nature. The rest of the cast were very good with the exception of Justin Timberlake, who annoyed me and looked to be trying too hard.
The pace and narrative of the story effectively portrays a young man's budding genius and the reaction and response by those around him to his ingenious creation. Wonderful film. 9/10 from me (I hold back one point as I still prefer the King's Speech).

Really enjoyed this movie! Jesse Eisenberg was excellent as the creator of Facebook. The dialogue was very sharp and intelligent, giving the film a good pace. I thought the soundtrack was great, well deserving of the oscar it won. 9/10 from me.

Re: The Social Network
cracking film with rarely a wasted scene. It certainly didnt feel long though it was. And it made a dislikeable character watchable, which cant be easy.
Jessie deserves an oscar more than his competitors, but the cast felt ensemble throughout, epecially an 'Anakin Skywalker'-lookalike (Armie Hammer? lol)
Good to see the gooooorgeous Brenda Song moving into grown up roles with a hilarious portrayal of Garfield's character's girlfriend.

I watched this again recently having first seen it back in October 2010 with a ShowFilmFirst code. I forgot just how good the soundtrack is!
Re: The Social Network
the soundtrack is awesome, i love it, so clever. it's a shame that they didn't push more boundaries with their style and sound when they also did Fincher' s GWTDT really.dabotsonline wrote:I watched this again recently having first seen it back in October 2010 with a ShowFilmFirst code.
