I admire all those kids that managed to stay (pretty much) still for the entire movie o/

6.5/10 for me
Have to agree, it was way too long and I don't know about anyone else but during it I was so thirsty!

So was I! I do agree that it was more marketed towards adults.

Have to say I loved getting to hold the snake called Suzanne! and the feel of the chamellion but the film was a disappointment, it was slow and I didnt feel for any of the characters and there werent many laffs either. I agree with others that it was a bit dark for kids with the constant talk of impending death and the hanging owls??? :nono:

Shame really, I had high hopes for this one.

I thought they did really well at making the kids feel welcome to the cinema but watching the movie I thought that there were places that they could have easily cut and lost nothing from the movie, in fact it may have sped things up so I wouldn't have spent so long waiting for something to happen. I was told off by someone who came with me for fidgeting so much which I only really do when bored.

There were some very good bits, and some bits that were definitely aimed at children but a lot of it I'm sure would have gone over their heads. I certainly didn't find it as funny as I was expecting with only a few laugh out loud moments. I did like subtle, and some not so subtle, nods to other films scattered throughout and part way through I started playing a game of spot the movie reference with myself.

In summary I thought the voice acting was good, the animation was pretty much flawless, the plot made sense, but overall the film lacked something.

I'd say maybe a 7-7.5/10 and part of that score is based on the pre-film entertainment :P
