I LOVE Hart of Dixie, one of my favourite new shows this year. I've always been a fan of Rachel Bilson and this show has lots of male eye candy, hmmm....

I agree it's not a medical drama at all, it reminds me more of Gilmore Girls, both are set in quirky little towns in the US with a range of colourful characters and festivals.

The show just finished its first season in the US (and has been picked up for another one, woo!) and the last episode was very awesome.

True, its not Bilsons fault shes too fit for the role lol. Shes at least very ordinary in character, shes non-charismatic, which is exactly what most just-qualified medics come across as after 6 years breaking rocks in med school. And I cant but love sun drenched US shows especially during these showery months, America feels just like the dreamland they try so awfully hard to depict it as in their shows.

I am also desperately trying to rationalise Alcatraz after hearing I only have a meagre two episodes left to watch ever of this intriguing series. So my theory goes that Hauser (Sam Neil) may actually be Hansard (or working for him) of the mysterious corporation behind the miracles in LOST. Of course that means this series is actually a major 10 year flashforward for Hurley from Lost, who has since changed his name to Diego Soto and became a fanboy criminologist for reasons not yet revealed. Its that history as Hurley would explain why this useless fella has been hired at all for this covert top secret operation (perhaps the shows biggest mystery to date, ay?). So my theory goes that the time travel technology from LOST was being developed in the 60s using the patients of Alcatraz as guinea pigs -making Alcatraz an unoffical prequel to LOST. Well, what utter drivel I am writing. Possibly the black smoke monster was one of Diego Soto's monster superlurking timetravelling farts out for redemption against Hurley and Co, there you go. Enough prattling. This hurts me more than it hurts you..

Why do they even start these shows if they know they are going to get cancelled???

A bit of a contradiction there, eh? How can you say a show is awfully bad if you haven't really watched it? :p

Hart of Dixie in my opinion is easy viewing but nothing special. The characters aren't that intriguing and the dialogue isn't as witty or sharp as the Gilmore Girls. The show is lucky is got renewed. It could have gone either way.

fair point. I tried watching GA on more than one occasion, and each time it was so bad that I had to reach for the remote to preserve sanity. Sure, McDreamy is well fit, girls, but personally I think a 'medical fantasy' should be just that, more from the heart than from the err.. Grey.

And thank f**k noones replying to my Alcatraz post, that would have been nightmare city trying to explain, beyond - 'that was one wierd peice of cheese I had last night'.

I watched 2 Broke Girls last night

It's a really good programme
A horse walks into a bar and the bartender asks, "Why the long face?"

A pony walks into the bar and whispers, "I'll have a beer, please." The barkeeper asks, "Why are you whispering?".
"I'm a little hoarse."

I didn't reply as I didn't read it. I still have a few episodes in the season left to watch and didn't want to get spoiled.

Finished Smash season 1, which really got a lot better throughout the season. I love the insight it gave us into creating a Broadway show and all the stages it goes through before opening night. I also really want to see Marilyn the Musical now (which is what I'm naming the show, it's I think better than the title they eventually went with), the songs are very catchy.

Rigjt now on Sky Arts 1: Picasso and Braque go to the movies.
A documentary about cinema debuts, avant-garde, movement, in relation to the two painters' work and ideas. Pretty cool!
