Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
Last night the wife and I went and watched Blink 182 play at the Brixton Academy. Seen them a few times over the last 10 years and must say it was the best I've ever seen them. They were spot on playing a good mix of really old tunes and new tunes. Travis Barker is a legend on the drums and is an incredibly showman with the sticks. Really happy that we went down and really good to see them in a "small" venue (i.e. not an arena). Was also good that even though I'm now 30 it seemed the average age was late 20s/early 30s!

I'm a bit older than 30 (!!) and I know a few Blink 182 tracks (thanks to my kids!) .. I liked them. I thought they had broke up and some had made a new band!andrew.falconer wrote:Last night the wife and I went and watched Blink 182 play at the Brixton Academy. They broke up, went off and did solo projects (Tom Delonge - guitarist, did Box Car Racer and Angels & Airwaves, Mark Hoppuss - bassist, had a band called +44 and Travis Barker did a lot of guest spots for lots of different artists). Then in 2009 they reformed and started touring again and released a new album last year.jojojoanne wrote:I'm a bit older than 30 (!!) and I know a few Blink 182 tracks (thanks to my kids!) .. I got into them when I first heard "What's my age again?" on a free CD from Kerrang when I was 17 in 1999 and was a fan ever since. Not always a tight live band but they know how to put on a great show. The lighting rigs they used last night were phenominal.

I think one or two of Blink 182 formed a new band Box Car Racer, who I also liked!! (my kids will cringe if they read this!!)jojojoanne wrote:I'm a bit older than 30 (!!) and I know a few Blink 182 tracks (thanks to my kids!) .. I liked them. Box Car Racer were really Tom Delonges band, but travis did the drums for it. Some might say that it was doing that album which ultimately lead them to splitting up round then.jojojoanne wrote:I think one or two of Blink 182 formed a new band Box Car Racer, who I also liked!! Tom DeLonge stopped a while because of health reasons too. That's what I read in my (too numerous) rock magazines when I was a teenager
Aaah, it reminds me all the moments spent with my brothers watching Blink 182 and Bloodhound Gang videos...
