I've just been invited to "the ONLY party in the capital to be at!" Modest they aren't...

What a fantastic time I had at the Westminster Boating Base this afternoon/early evening! We got there just after it started, greeted by the most endearing elderly gentlemen who turns out to be the guy who I have been liaising with for this event. Anyway after that the food and drink just flowed non stop! Prawns, mussels, salad sticks and dips, asparagus, quail's eggs, duck, salmon, a mix of canapes, sushi, sausages, chicken, kebab halumi, potato wedges etc. All served with a jazz trio band playing in the background. At one point, the elderly gentleman made a most heartfelt and humorous speech and everyone cheered, and even the sun made an appearance from behind the clouds, illuminating the floor to ceiling window and crowded room.

Then in another room, the latest dance music was playing and we all had such fun boogie-ing, and then more food and drinks. There were lovely seating areas all around the base where you can step outside and enjoy the river breeze and watch the waves flow by along the river and enjoy the views down the Thames.

Ha ha, I had an invite for the Westminster Boating thingy as well but unlike some I can't swan off early (it started at 4pm), and I had Source Code to go to. Plus, it was raining so I didn't think it would be all that great there. More fool me.
