Re: Site Specific Theatre
LOL...Happy birthday Alek, it would be a nice birthday present wouldn't it? haha...
Don't think it's going to happen though, some tickets are quite cheap £10 but I don't think they ever do free tickets unless its via a brand like Stella etc.

Cheers Superhero
I think it -could- happen. But only if its a production where tickets aren't getting sold (case in point, look at the Brothers Kazmarov). They are quite desperate to get bums on seats. I have seen adverts all over london now stating that "kids go free" but when they opened, it was a standard price ticket for kids too! (I did go see those Brothers Kazmarov, and sadly their audience didn't fill up the first 3 rows. Which is a shame. Their act really does shine with a BIG audience and lots of cheering).
-ok, Flying Brothers Kazmarov aside- It COULD happen. Its happened to me before. I am 20 as of today. And the last time it occurred, I was... 13/14?
So maybe!

As you said, brands do stuff quite a lot. Like Stella. And there are free things you could do that are similar such as flashmobs... Or real-life pacman, pacmanhattan (if you happen to be in NY) http://pacmanhattan.com/
Its just one of many location-based-games. they are really fun, but still not quite what we are looking for...

Re: Site Specific Theatre
Well that's the ultimate theatre show/arts experience isn't it, if they can give you the Michael Douglas experience in "The Game". I think Punchdrunk is very close to doing that

Re: Site Specific Theatre
I love Punchdrunk. I had the opportunity to p*y for a one-day masterclass kind of thing and turned it down because of University commitments
DAMN YOU SHEFFIELD HALLAM UNIVERSITY AND YOUR STUDENT-PISSING-ON-A-WAR-MEMORIAL-IN-SHEFFIELD-CITY-CENTRE-REPUTATION. -ahem-
I didn't see this live, it was broadcast on BBC4. But it was amazing to watch. Its an opera in german, "Moses un Aron" by Arnold Schoenberg (He gave "Aron" one A so that the title wouldn't contain 13 letters. Schoenberg was scared of the number 13...) Anyway. There is an ongoing 3-year festival in NW Germany. and this opera was put on in an old GIANT factory. The stage and sets moved, the audience's seating moved. Both changed colours. There were 3D projections you diddn't need glasses for etc. It was amazing! Smewhere on youtube you can watch the whole thing I think. but here are two amazing videos of it to give you an idea:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxOKQGCpJlo
And the festival has loads of other sight-specific stuff going on. In case you just want to have a look at the stuff they've been putting on...

Re: Site Specific Theatre
I did go to Search Party for the Olympic celebrations a few weeks ago, but I really didn't count that as "theatre", it was more of a treasure hunt and that was free.

Treasure Hunts are good! That's how I got my 100% genuine real gold (definitely not plastic) gold medal. From Legoland...
