Freaky Friday remade into with the crudeness & gross out popular in recent films. Sometimes it works, like in Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses, but in this case it just seemed to be trying too hard. There were some people at the back laughing hysterically but the rest of us could only muster a giggle now and then. I think they'd have been better off with a more disney version of it, I wonder if Disney/freaky Friday can sue for taking their idea & making a less funny version of it?

I must admit I thought Change Up was funny. I particularly loved the scenes with the children. When he picked up the children as though they were 2 bags of shopping, I definitely chuckled! Ok so the story line is not original and it did depend on "toilet humour" at times but maybe I was just in the right mood to enjoy this film. I saw film at Braehead which was almost full.

Yeah I found the bits with the babies in the kitchen funny, just not hysterical as some people in the room. It just didn't seem to hang together well, some bits being quite sweet and non-gross out and then being totally OTT the next minute.

I liked this, it is a good fun movie to pick yourself up to at the end of the day, but as elski has pointed out, its a male version of freaky friday, and that was bad.
Given it does take away some of the cheesiness of the disney movie, but I think that's what would have made it more acceptable as a film!
Yes it was funny, not laugh out loud funny with the exception of 2 moments, but it tried and it didnt come up trumps as much as it could have.

I did think Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds put in good performances playing each other though.

As I expected, predictable yet funny!

There was a period where I thought "is that it?", but it did pick up. There was a fair bit of gross out humour, but I've seen worse comedies.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Went in with low expectations after the poor box office and reviews. The final act is a bit weak but Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman are likeable leads and it made me laugh on more than a few occasions.

Almost full at Westerhailes tonight and people are definately going earlier to get a seat.
The couple next to me were annoying with munching hot dogs, noisily sharing a big box of popcorn which she then dropped on the floor and over my feet.

The film was funnier than I expected and I enjoyed it. Sometimes you just want to sit back and have a laugh even if it is the usual predictable sex and toilet humour. Loved the scenes with the babies.

A mediocre film with no originality. Body-swapping comedies are not a new idea and this attempt with a male twist really does not work. By trying to appeal to a male audience, the jokes are too skewed towards rudeness and puerile humour.

Bateman and Reynolds try to do their best with the material they are given and they just about carry the film with their charm and likeability but the story wears thin after a while, and the character of Mitch became downright annoying.

There are a couple of laugh out loud moments but too much swearing and crudeness. The film really dragged in the middle and should definitely have been shorter. The supporting characters (Leslie Mann and Olivia Wilde) were underdeveloped and the ending was a bit corny.

Hollywood really needs to come up with fresh ideas rather than weak rehashes of an old concept.
