Re: Footloose
Saw this tonight at Surrey Quays. What a steaming pile of sh!t this was.
The original was hardly a classic by any stretch of the term so I didn't expect much but geez, I didn't expect it to suck this much. For once I can't even blame it on the 6 year old kid that was trying to mount the back of my seat for the entire duration of the movie. It just blew all round. The Casey Affleck wannabe was a decent enough stand-in for Kevin Bacon, but the Ariel character was such a slut I just couldn't bring myself to root for her. Plus they turned the Footloose track into a country song! I mean, what the hell? Except for Americans, who the heck else even listens to country music??
Anyway, just my 2 cents but "Footloose: Hillbilly Edition" is a total waste of time.

Oh yeah, I'm clearly in the minority because Rotten Tomatoes currently has this rated

Re: Footloose
I'm just back from a fairly empty Braehead. This was surprising as the Cineworld screenings had been cancelled/postponed tonight.
I have to say I found the film to be entertaining (for a cold, dark, windy Thursday). Sure, it doesn't tax the brain but the acting was reasonable and the story predictable (even if you've never seen the original!).
I'd give it 6/10.
I again joined Yinster and friends for viewing so good company!

Re: Footloose
I really enjoyed this film at a fairly empty Trafford Centre, there was a problem with the film hence 30 minutes delay.
Extremely predictable and a bit naff but fun. The prom scene/setting is almost identical to a film that I have seen recently but can't for the life of me remember which film (it had loads of stars in the first film instead of the light bulb chandelier)
7/10

Re: Footloose
Thank you it was Prom, it would have driven me mad not knowing. I've just watched the trailer and you are right, I should have twigged with it being called prom but I didn'tYinster wrote:Prom?
