Vue Islington very packed. Annoying noisy people to left and right which proved to be very distracting in such a quiet film. Not sure I liked the end twist - it kind of negated everything that had gone on before. Otherwise, OH and I really liked this, the performances were strong, and Curtis' decent into madness was unsettling.

The lights came on 15 minutes before the end of the film which was even more distracting as it provoked the noisy people to be even noisier. After the film was over, the FMUK delegation (ejwrank, PXC and myself) went to complain to the Duty Manager, who, though a pleasant person, didn't really do much and told us to complain online as she couldn't get through to Sky (no wonder at that time of night). Right, so complaints to Sky and Vue are being written. And twitter will be utilised too.

7.5/10 as it was 15 minutes too long.

The same thing happened at Vue Islington for 'A Lonely Place to Die' not that long ago. They're making a habit of this.

Same thing happened to me at Perfect Sense, I complained by email and got free nachos, so fingers crossed you get a result.

As for the film I was engrossed from start to finish despite the noisy eaters all around me, I guess that's a sign of a good film. I thought it was expertly played, though it would be interesting to hear any health professionals take on it.

Slow and probably not for everyone, but I found it absorbing and unsettling in equal measure.

Well this was certainly my least favourite preview of the year. By no means is it a bad film, in fact it was a very absorbing drama and very well acted. I'm such a contradiction arent I?

But God it was depressing and it really tried my patience to the point I was about to scream and go mad with the protagonist "What's happening to me?!" (in my case "why did I chose this film over Moneyball?!" ). The wife was superb though, and I love the way she played her role in the unfolding family crisis. So was the increasingly paranoid protagonist. I really felt for him. So very well acted and so convincingly depressing that I wanted Nic Cage to turn up and make me laugh with his overacting.

But is there a p*y off for this in the end? I wont say. Because you will figure it out if I say Yes or No.

My rating is 6/10. Mostly for the way the wife was potrayed. I really appreciated that the most, in this film.

[spoiler]The man was obviously pschologically ill in the end, so what gives with this stupid tacked on ending. Who are they trying to please? An audience who was looking out for a Shyamalan twist? Are they really going to appreciate that? The only meaning I can abstract from this ending is the irony of the tornado's location.

I'd like to know who was the guy outside the window in his dream. This is the thing, the film teased us with ONE supernatural style jump, so you kind od expect more. What was this film trying to be?[/spoiler]

One thing I have learned from tonight - I will never ever freaking ever be nice again and move down one seat (asked or unasked) to provide two seats next to each other for people because that means those people have the opportunity to TALK to each other. And that must be avoided at all costs. I propose that everyone splits up in a cinema from now on. It won't sort out the mobile phone checking and sweet rustling, but otherwise the noise level should go down. And I might just print out copies of the Wittertainment code for cinema etiquette and hand them out randomly to my neighbours. Who's with me?

I liked the film. It did drag a bit at times but overall it had a lot of atmosphere and I was glad I saw it. Not sure about the ending but it does make for discussion so that's got to be a positive thing.

Islington Vue once again managed to turn the lights on too early and this time by 15 minutes which is totally ridiculous. Beate, prettyxcool and I stayed behind to be sure that management knew we were fed up with such incompetence. What is with these bl--dy multiplexes? Either the film is out of focus or the lights come on early or it's boiling hot -- they never get it right. Also did anyone else at Islington notice that the film faded periodically? It happened a number of times but I don't know if it was a projection fault or that was the way it was made.
