Yeah but it illustrated the fear of people who are different (people who see ghosts) and how they were treated centuries back. We are supposed to be more enlightened now but bullying of people who are different still exists. It gives the message of tolerance and also that revenge does not help anyone either. While it's heavy stuff, I think it's good to give children those messages.
I have to say I don't agree with wrapping kids up in cotton wool either, yes they are serious issues but the film dealt with them in an appropriate way for the age group and it's nothing that KS2 primary school children would not be covering in history lessons. Obviously this was fictional loosely tied to witch trials. The mistakes of the past should not be forgotten but learned from so we don't do them again.

LOL, there are actual words in it? I thought it was just nonsense singing! I was concentrating on the minion that grew angrier by the second, it was so funny.
I think a bit of both, she knows the nonsense as well as the words!
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Arrived at Odeon West End around 9.45am and no queues and not as busy as I expected at the activities. Lovely to see so many FMUkers, and a lovely spread of breakfast! We grabbed so much food and drinks, what a party! Thanks c_t for the photo outside and funthing for joining me on the green screen, and then I discovered that because I had a green dress on, my body had disappeared! Very fitting actually! o/ I enjoyed sitting in the premiere seats.

I love animation films, and this is a superb piece of animation. I really, really enjoyed it, such fun to watch and such a captivating and emotional story, lots of good humour and not the least scary, for me anyway. 9/10

And the minions trailer at the beginning was so funny and the 3D worked! Do we really have to wait a year??? :shifty:

Great spread, great company, great 3D, great animation, great everything. And that Despicable Me 2 teaser works well on second viewing. It is the angry minion who sells the bit completely.
Only disappointment is the new Universal logo in 3D. I hoped for more popping out and a larger sense of scale to it.

the film was not too bad and the kids didnt seemed too scared and seemed to enjoy it but not so much the coconut drinks given before we went in

when I went to the Despicable Me 1 premiere, there were minions all over the place. I guess there were little kids inside the costumes. I was desperate to push them over :red: :shifty:

Maybe for the sequel there'll be more, and we can all do some Minion-tipping. (I want to see this happen, has there been a youtube video made of people doing this somewhere? Probably on youtube?)

Simply my favourite animated feature this year! Everything was perfect from the characters, the script, the animation (stunning details!), the message... everything!
I'd come into town on a Sunday morning anytime for this kind of treat!
(As mentioned earlier I think it's a waste to bring the youngest along, there were few 3-5yo this morning and they really did not sound like they appreciated all the dark stuff! Poor things!)

Did anybody spot (early on in the film) the dead flying bird? Did it remind you of Lovelace (Happy feet), or is that only me?

9.5/10
