Thought it was going to be just some trashy but upbeat type a la 'Sugar and Spice' but it really surprised me. My +1 and I enjoyed it quite a bit, as did a friend of mine who also happened to get tickets.

And Livi92...James Franco is American? He was doing a bit of a southern accent and coming from that part of America, I can tell you it was actually really accurate.
Ah I didn't realise he was American, I genuinely thought he was British, my mistake and now I thinking back, I guess his accent is very southern. I haven't had a chance to hear many Southern accents and most of the people I know from the State have a Northern accent which is probably why I thought it wasn't a great American accent.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the screening. I thought I recognised you, but the film had started when I spotted you and you'd left by the time we came out of the screening room :/
Yeah my friend and I got there about quarter past and I couldn't tell red from blue til they turned on the lights lol! But place beyond the pines at Covent garden tomorrow, right? I'll try and spot you then! :)

Hi I Won the spring breakers screening event and went Friday evening. All I can say is oh dear.
Terrible low budget film probably one of the worst Ive seen. No beer or nibbles at screening. All they did was throw a couple of tshirts posters wristbands into audience before the start of the film. We wanted too leave after 5-10 mins but stayed till the end in the hopes it would improve. After went over too the club. It wasn't an after party as someone was handing out cards too give you free entrance anyway and your 1st drink half price. We walked out of the club almost straight away. overpriced and thumping not even good music. Bouncers told Us there was a quieter part of the club upstairs with a restaurant no thanks we had seen the prices. Was looking forward too a dance etc. Don't even think My 17 year old Daughter would've even liked the club. But nevermind you live and learn and we managed too laugh about it on way home.

I went to that Spring Breakers DVD launch thing too.

Third time I've seen the film in the cinema now, and I've deeply enjoyed it on an emotional and physical level every single time. I think it's a towering achievement in cinema, and certainly the best film so far of 2013. It's one of those films I could quite happily watch on a loop over and over again. I can (sort of) see why people don't like it, but for me it's going to end up in that rare category of films where if someone hates it we probably can't really discuss film in a useful way.

Also I got a free poster, balaclava, soundtrack and 5 free bottles of beer for coming dressed appropriately. The cherry on the cake.

Rather a harsh comment to make? After all just because one person hates one film that you love, doesn't mean to say you can't have a love of films or even find you both love/hate another film mutually.

It's just that I like this film so much that anyone who hates it must view the cinema, art and the world in general in such a colossally different way to me that it'd be make any discussion pointless. There'd be no reasonable middle ground for us to meet at. It'd be the same if I met someone that hated 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', found '2001: A Space Odyssey' boring or dismissed David Lynch as pretentious. They're welcome to hold those opinions but if their mind works like that then we're totally incompatible.

It'd be like getting mouth to mouth from someone that breathes carbon monoxide. Pointless and damaging.
