Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
The first film had a real sense of adventure that has been missing from summer blockbusters for a while - from the look of the trailer, I'm expecting something similar. It might not equal the first, but I don't think we'll be disappointed.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
Friend and I went to the premiere today to stand outside like nerds. It was incredible. Only issue was we ended up behind a large group of professional autograph seekers who were really rude and obnoxious and actually managed to drive most of the cast away!
This woman was saying really mean things about Benedict Cumberbatch, when all I've ever heard from people who have met him is that he's really lovely. She was obviously just miffed he didn't sign her picture, which probably would have just ended up on ebay this evening anyway.
Got a good view of the festivities regardless, and the interviews were awesome. Can't wait for the film!

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
In today's kermode & mayo podcast extra, mayo says that he has seen this twice (2d & 3d) and that it is "excellent". Kermode states that jj abrahams has said he "made the best 2d film he could". Not sure if this means that 3d effects added in post - production, of that he had made the film in 3d, but without much concerning to that aspect of it...not sure which.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
I think it's been shot in 2D and the 3D has been added post production...

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness
I cant wait to see this, but as there is no Manchester free screenings and I will be using one of my spare tickets I am going to wait until the reviews before I decide whether to watch in 2D or 3D, no point in wasting a 3D ticket if the reviews say otherwise. I have already checked the showing times and hopefully going next Friday after work
