My list would be more a case of most and least engaging or entertaining, as I'm not claiming that those I enjoyed would necessarily qualify on artistic merit; conversely, one or two I didn't enjoy would be in others' "best" lists.
Most Enjoyed/Engaged By:
Hitchcock
No
Robot & Frank
Spirit Of 45
Populaire
The Way, Way Back
Wadjda
Rush
In A World
Nebraska
Not For Me:
The Bling Ring
Prince Avalanche
Lincoln

Best:
Saving Mr Banks
Captain Phillips
Blue Jasmine
The Great Gatsby (I know, I know, not the best film, but with the costumes and the colour, I enjoyed watching it a lot..if you didn't like it, try watching it again, but forget everything you know about the novel? That's what I did)
Les Miserables
Philomena
Worst:
Romeo and Juliet (I tried so hard to like this film, but it's impossible, the screenplay ruined it..stick to the Zeffirelli version)

My choice is Mark Kermode's worst film of the year Pain and Gain a truly pitch black comedy starring The Rock in his best role yet. Its a marmite film with idiots doing idiotic things and darker than the Coen's "Burn After Reading." I love marmite but don't spread it around. Happy 2014

Oh my god. I saw Diana last night and was honestly shocked at how bad it was. About the only thing that was acceptable were the costumes. I thought they did a good job of copying her jewellery including the pearl earrings, like
those found here, that Kate now wears.
