I thought it was the language towards the end of the film that tipped it over.

There's a limit to how many swear words you can use per rating

Saw this at Glasgow Fort last night with a few FMUKers in attendance, teddybear1, karenlg123, Yinster & moggers(long time no see! )
The cinema was only about 70% full which surprised me as this was the only preview of the film. Maybe others went to The Judge!
I enjoyed this film and loved the twists and turns . . . several times I thought I knew how it was going to end . . . and it didn't! The film moved along at a fine pace pulling me further into their relationship and almost holding my breath at times as I thought we had reached the climax . . . and then the story went on with another twist! I did see some holes in the plot but didn't really care as I was hooked!
Great acting by all throughout!
I did see a couple trying to bring their 2 teenage daughters into the cinema but they were stopped because the film had an 18 rating and certainly one girl was not 18. I'm not sure how the situation was resolved though I don't think the girls were admitted . . . and rightly so. I think this film deserves it's 18 rating though I do agree that much of the film could have qualified as 15.

I wrote this yesterday on my Smart TV of which I am mightily proud but it's probably good to extend my review.

First I want to thank PXC for saving us two seats in the back row next to ejwrank! We were mightily late (6.15pm when everyone just went in) because the transport bus only dropped OH off at 5.30pm today - they cited travel problems. That meant we had to practically hurl ourselves across London because I knew this screening would be fully booked - and so it was. I think they even had to send away people. We had security who asked us to turn phones off and it was largely a disruption-free screening, apart from that insane laughter in the second half of the film. I laughed too sometimes because it was funny how they manipulated the media etc., but I didn't think it was hysterical.

I thought the manipulation of people and media was the most interesting part - it was also an interesting observation of a marriage, but while none of them was without blame, one of them definitely was a first-rate psychopath.

I also found it weird that the blood was only washed off much later, and I think the 18 rating has a lot to do with sex, nudity, lots of swear words and violence, in particular one gory scene. None of this I minded personally, and I am not sure how traumatised a 15 year old would be (not) but I wouldn't want to take a 12 year old to it for example.

I was hoping for a different ending and I have already put Gone Girl on my library reservation list - after all there is still the couple out there robbing the money, they could shed some light on events?

OH fell asleep at the end but that's no reflection on the film - it was simply very long although time flew and I was entertained throughout and even leaned forward a couple of times.

She stepped out of the car in a blood stained dress and next time you see her is at the interview sitting in a wheelchair with the blood still on her but in hospital clothing and she travelled home in the same clothing! She surely would have had a shower when the dress was removed as she was capable of standing and posing for the cameras.The blood ran off her so easily in the shower it should have been seeping through the hospital clothing! Ridiculous - but it is make believe after all!
