I feel the film did do the book justice but with all book to film remakes the book always wins. There are little bits that were different but yes its mainly true to the book so definitely a good read and a good watch!a_person wrote:The film to that was really good too! Re: The Book thread
I've been getting through a load of books recently, don't understand why, as I am busier than ever!
I adored "Loving Frank" by Nancy Horan, which is a fictionalised version of the story of Frank Lloyd Wright (The US architect) and a woman (former client of his) who he left his wife for. Fascinating glimpse into society at the time, and totally gripping story - I'd highly recommend this. I think it was a Richard and Judy choice.
And a couple of Harlen Coben books - In the Woods, which was brilliant, and Hold Tight, which was good, although I was alittle disappointed in the ending. But that could have been because I could not go to sleep without finding out what had happened, and it was the early hours of the morning when I finished it! These two are 'standalone' books, but they have some common characters.

Re: The Book thread
Okay so, im really bad with books, I enjoy books that just go over the top of my head, but equally so I can finish them in a few days and throroughly enjoy them.
Most of my collection is non fiction, and about sex, in the forms of call girls, brothels, women having affairs. Honest I'm not a filthy girl..... honest..... I just enjoy them :)
I love Imogen Edward Jones who is the writer of Hotel Babylon, I have read the entire Babylon collection, so far Air Babylon and Beach Babylon are my favourites. And I just b*ght Wedding Babylon for the flight, when I'm not watching the inflight movies
The Babylon books are true events within these industries, only the characters have changed names (apart from the famous people being a bit naughty, or spoilt)
Mike Gayle is amazing, "wish you were here" is an absolutely fantastic book, and i picked that up in waterstones 3 for 2 wooo! he has a few books, "Life and soul of the party" did not leave my side until I finished it, and even then I was ignoring calls and missing hollyoaks for it! haha, so I know for a fact I will p*rchase more of his.
I used to enjoy the Janet Evanovich stories about Stephanie Plum the Bounty Hunter, I think its up to at least 16 in the series. My sister got me on to these when I was younger, and I haven't read one in a while but I advise the series to anyone, they're fab! :)
When I was younger I used to collect Point Horror books, these were fantastic!! I wonder if these are still made for a bit of a revisit :)

No no ha! she's posh, all double barrell edward-jones, and a bit irritating trying to find her alphabetically because some shops store her books in different letters what a faff.
