Thanks elski o/
We'll just need to keep checking (I know I will!) for when it does go live and they update their page for 2010.

What I meant was it looks like it's not happening, we would have heard by now. This time last year we were half-way through the 'screening week' there's no time left to advertise it and have it happen. :(

Last years awards ceremony took place place Feb 8th. Which is why this time last year we were already sitting in the screenings. This year, the ceremony is taking place 21 Feb, so I am still optimistic (though chances are slim) that we will still get to see some BAFTA nominated films.

I have emailed Telegraph asking them if they will be holding this promotion again - will keep you posted on their reply. :cross: :cross:

I didn't think it was worth posting this in the BAFTAs comp thread as it involves b*ying expensive chocolate to see if you've won.

I got a reply from the Telegraph!! And it's good news! HURRAH! :star: :j :T :j
Thank you for your recent communication to the Telegraph Media Group. Further to your enquiry, the BAFTA Film Tour will be running from Friday 5 March - Friday 12 March and will be showcase 7 BAFTA winning films. If you b*y the paper on the March 5, you will find more information about this.
Wonder which 7 films they will be??...

yay! o/ that's great not quite as many as all the nominees but better than nothing which I thought we were getting. Hopefully it's still as widespread across the country as last year.

Given the timing, it'll probably end up being some of the films that have won awards at the ceremony but that have also already been on release for some time...

Here's the rules for eligibility from the BAFTA website.

Eligibility
Films must be released theatrically in the UK, within the Academy awards year:
1 January to 31 December 2009. Films that open between 1 January and 19 February 2010 inclusive may be 'qualified' by Distributors by being screened to Academy Film Voting Members by Thursday 17 December 2009.

To be eligible, a feature film must:

be feature-length, i.e. with a running time exceeding 60 minutes;
receive its first public exhibition or distribution in the UK as a theatrical release;
be exhibited publicly to a p*ying audience within a commercial cinema in the UK for no fewer than seven consecutive days.

Not sure how Crazy Heart fits those rules. As it's out on the 18th February (according to IMDB) I'm not sure how it qualifies for the 'seven consecutive days' rule. Has it had a limited release in a commercial cinema anywhere?
and now Crazy Heart is only on release in London and the rest of the UK get's it 5th March, does that mean he should be disqualified? :confused:
