Times + help
Hi,
I was wondering if someone who subscribes to the times would look and see if there are tickets available for the Switch at Portsmouth. I have tickets to Chichester but would save train fare to there if there was some available closer to home. Don't want to subscribe unless there are tickets. Thanks

My In laws went to Aberdeen screening yesterday and loved it.
they thought it was really funny and enjoyable.
Aberdeen was pretty busy apparently.

Re: The Switch
Saw this at Islington yesterday - quite enjoyed it (as did an unwilling OH who normally hates romcoms - that's two now he's admitted to being ok, haha). Not particularly ground breaking and totally predictable, but fun, light and suitable for a Sunday morning :)
7/10 from me

We saw this in Leicester today. Both enjoyed it - it was an OKAY film, had some funny moments and I loved the kid. Would give it a 7/10.

Re: The Switch
As far as romcoms go this was not as much of a chick flick as I thought it'd be. Was pleasantly surprised actually. Good film.

Re: The Switch
I saw this at the Apollo Piccadilly Circus, with the thought that if it's pants we could still bail and run around the corner to the Cineworld Haymarket for The Girl Who Played with Fire which was due to start an hour later. The cinema got very full and someone introduced the film quickly and asked us to give our opinion at the end and have a drink. Thankfully he shut up presently and they switched all the lights off again so we could settle down.
Gosh, this film is so much better than Going the Distance. Not crude at all, and despite how they could have milked it, the subject matter was actually handled quite tastefully. Yes, it's not much of a brainer and the ending is clear from the beginning but you are routing for Ol' Knobblynose to get the girl AND his son. Who was a lovely neurotic mini-version of him. Jeff Goldblum as Wally's sidekick did not get enough screentime however, he was great, whereas Juliette Lewis as Jennifer Anniston's best friend was just annoying. As was Jennifer Aniston, frankly. She is just so wooden, and when will she finally get rid of "The Rachel" hairdo? She only ever plays her anyway.
But Jason Bateman was great, his rapport with the kid was really touching, and there were some tender moments in there with Sebastian which made the film for me. It was actually lovely how the love story took the backseat in this sweet tale of a father connecting with the son he didn't know he had. They could have made more out of the whole story, but the kid collecting frames with the factory pictures still in them, giving them names and stories gave me a lump in my throat.
7.5/10

Re: The Switch
Saw this tonight at Silverlink which was about 1/2 full... was shocked that the doors opened at 6pm as normally its only 10 mins before. Film started on time, no trailers. As said previous some fab bits with Jason Bateman and the little boy who was adorable. Jennifer Anniston is a one trick pony and wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt as normally avoid her films like the plague, but unfortunately this was no exception and Juliet Lewis's character.... what the hell is she doing roles like this for???? 5/10 from me .. Oh yes.. an I did have a blub at the picture frame scene x
