Re: Let Me In
I'm looking forward this. Hopefully I will get to see it (depending on shift change) as I've not had a lot of luck getting to free screenings so far this year.
I'm expecting to be disappointed compared to the original but I'm also hopeful.

Re: Let Me In
My mother accompanied me, we both came out extremely underwhelmed, I thought it might at the very least be better than the much loved, but not by me, original, alas no, if anything it's strongly worse for the terrible CGI and monotonous, dull acting of the leads.
Still, Richard Jenkins saves the film, as he can do so easily, gotta love the Jenkins.

Re: Let Me In
goodness cant see this film working wth these cute little kiddies in it. i'd be inclined to start cooing and patting them on the head, wubble their chubby cheeks and offer them lollipops, rather than jump out of my skin at the sight of them.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

Re: Let Me In
Well that was a bit underwhelming - my first ever horror film and if this is standard, my last. I didn't see the original so can't compare it and know that some people who've seen both prefer one to the other, with no obvious split. But this didn't make me want to see anything remotely similar. I was surprised by how old-fashioned and hammy it was in places. Still, at least I can say I tried!

Re: Let Me In
oh why did I go? this is such a pale immitation of the original, it's lost all the serene beauty of the really deep snow and intense cold and completely lost the dark humour that the original had. I spent the entire film being irritated by the way they they'd sprayed some fake snow around outside the flats and made no effort to make it look real, it was all lumpy and only about an inch thick and you couldn't see people's breaths... it was probably summer time when they filmed it.

Re: Let Me In
But not so bad that you walked out? I did consider it, after one couple left early on, but decided to give it a bit longer. Then I thought I might as well sit it out.
