I wouldn't have moved FULL STOP. Remember that guy told us the screening was gonna be packed out and then those two ladies moved and one decided to come and sit on my lap. Beate, I couldn't fidget at all that night. I was so frustrated.

To top it up, remember they went and sat somewhere else in the end and the two seats on my left to those women remained empty! They could have moved back!

I saw this at the London Film Festival last year and really enjoyed it. Surprisingly similar to a lot of old-school horror movies in it's tone and style, including quite a few deliberately cheesy jump scares. A lot of it reminded me of Dario Argento (the melodrama and setting), Roman Polanski (the paranoia and atmosphere) and David Cronenberg (for the body horror). Incredibly over-the-top but deliriously so. I'm seriously tempted to try and catch it again now it's on general release.

Can't see it being that successful at the Oscars though, with the exception of Portman as Best Actress, as I think it's a two horse race for the major awards between The King's Speech and The Social Network. But then again, you never know.

Also a bit bored of articles and interviews on TV with actual ballerinas giving their opinion on it's authenticity. Who cares, it's a movie not real life.

The best was when this guy made out that he was doing me a favour to move over so he could sit with his threesome.

Yeah there were definite Polanski vibes. It reminded me of The Tenant and Repulsion.

I agree with your comments re: The Oscars. I think Actress is pretty much a lock, possible Best Supporting Actress nomination for Barbara Hershey...and maybe a sound design award at a push.

The Social Network has picture/director in the bag methinks...I personally found it rather pedestrian and forgettable.

I like sitting at the end of the row. One day I went to the loo, came back and my mum et al had moved to the middle. They said the woman sitting in my seat said she had a bad leg and had to sit at the end.

She spent the whole time before the movie started, walking up and down to the stairs to chat to friends, share sweets etc.

So much for her gammie leg. I was annoyed, only one of them had a bad leg, so if I'd been there, I would have just moved one seat and told the one with the good leg to sit elsewhere.

T**sers.
