The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Hi, this is my first post!
I went to see the Hobbit last week. I really wanted to see it and was prepared to p*y as the only free screening I could see was at the 02 (I'm in the North West). I saw it in 3D and thought it was well worth p*ying extra for. Loved the film and will b*y it on DVD when it's released.

Saw this today in 2D. Got a numb bum - it is very long.
It was detailed enough in 2D I can see why people were saying you could see fake noses and lenses in 3D!!

I enjoyed bits and not others.

7/10 from me thus far..............

Can anyone who was at the Greenwhich O2 on 14th December confirm whether we saw it in 24 or 48 fps? I could have sworn it looked like 48 (although I've never seen 48 before) but my friend just saw it again and swears the second time he saw it was 48, and when we saw the film was only in 24. Help.

Apparently not in 48fps in the super screen according to this post: http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 40#p264592

The 48 fps feels like a gigantic tv set, with movement closer to you on screen appearing slightly speeded up occasionally, and colours are far more vivid, such as the dragons fire which is a fair bit brighter than in 24 fps.

There doesnt appear to be a difference in the 3d.

I've not seen the whole movie yet, just halfway. Cant bear to finish it just yet...

they dont show pirates at the cinema, not till Johnny Depp returns in 2015 anyway.

funny you should say that about remotes - 48 fps really does make you feel like you could reach for a remote, its so close to having a VAST tv in front of you.

Saw this today using my free voucher!

I enjoyed the film though it was far too long. Not sure how they will string out the film for 3 parts as I felt it could have just been one film. It left me wanting more and can't believe I have to wait a year to see the next one.
