I dont know if it was just me, but it definetely didnt live up to the hype surrounding it.

Average at best. If i had seen this before and i had children, i probably wouldnt have taken them. Certainly points i was like "They said this in a childrens movie?" i.e talking about prostate... etc.

Let down by this. Doesnt even fall into the "good... for a free movie" category.

Overall, it was alright, but i was dissapointed. Dont go expecting the next Toy Story of Animation films.

Well I was blown away by this film! KK certainly summed it up well, especially the beginning. No unnecessary 3D either.

Was it a coincidence that the little girl had a hat and plaits just like Mattie in True Grit?

9/10 for me.

It really wasn't what I thought it was going to be, it was funny with adult humour and it was beautifully done, really lovely to watch, a bit dense in subject matter at times and i kind of felt sorry for the kids because of that and because it was so long and not very fast paced for the length of film.

my fave part was the owls singing about Rango "no tiene huevos" at which point my sister, her bf and myself burst into solitary laugher as we were the only people who got that joke, it was great (it was basically the owls singing that he has no balls). it was unexpected!

i forgot it was johnny depp a lot of the time. i loved that little lizard he rocked!

i give it 7.5/10 the extra half a point was just for that joke

Not bad, not bad. I actually thought the film was in 3D and brought glasses with me only to embarrass myself when the film started. Oh well. The film was actually much better than I expected, with some memorable characters and awesome action sequences as you would expect from director Gore Verbinski. Jokes mostly hit right notes too. I'd give it a definite 7/10.

Can't say that I enjoyed this one, found the film a little too long and a bit strange, although there were some humerous bits along the way.
I liked the animation though, thought it was well done.. Lots of bored children in Odeon Switch island, Liverpool which resulted in frequent trips in and out to the toilet and lots of chatting. Even my 17 yr old son was getting annoyed. Quite a lot of late-comers being admitted too.

Don't think this is a film I would want to watch again anytime soon, son said it was 'OK'

Nice Rango goodies from Virgin Media consisting of an activity book, a magnetic picture frame and stickers given out as we were leaving.

6/10

5 for the film, extra point for goodies.

Although it was technically fantastic, had some spot on Leonesque camera angles and I spotted the Hunter S. Thompson reference I was bored to tears.

It reminded me of Fantastic Mr Fox the way showing off and smart alecness took the place of wit and humour, and the whole thing left me unengaged and sympathising with the restless children.

I was impressed that Verbinski had chosen to so this rather than Pirates 4, but it's not that much of a departure - a load of set pieces, in a classic film genre, hanging on yet another all over the place OTT Johnny Depp performance.

Also, is there a 3D version or was it originally planned in 3D, as there seemed
to be quite a few things being poked toward the screen?

First time I have seen security at the door. Actually had to talk to the rep to mention that they shouldn't ask children's permission to search their bags but ask the adult present. Our virgin media rep was pretty nice so an extra point for her.

It wasn't what I expected and average at best. Liked the owls singing but I think it was trying to tailor to both children and adults.

Vue, Omni in Edinburgh was full. Lots of young children who were given a Rango poster and stickers as they came in. No popcorn or water for us. Very low key here unlike London who had musicians and blowup catcus!!!

This wasn't a children's film and yet not an adult film either!! Some of the one liners were missed as you couldn't hear what had been said with the child near us talking all the time.

A few laughs but not enough for me to rate it highly. 5/10 Wouldn't recommended it to anyone.
