Slow and steady wins in the end, chaps, and it's not a race, after all, so please don't anyone be discouraged. The point is to reach your goal and you will if you stick at it.

Day 5 not that I'm counting! All is going well - I didn't even go with a take out after Britain's Got Talent 8O I simply went home, and had a Diet Chef Oxtail soup and DC little cheese bites.

today I had a pear and my Granola, some cherry toms to pick at. DC chili Con Carne, with a bit of mash and green beans. Tonight some sort of soup and cheesy bites again v x

Yay, that's great Diane! Well Done! o/ - That's one less pound to think about, and a step nearer your goal! :D

But, do I detect just a smidge of disappointment here Diane? If I do then you shouldn't be disappointed at all!! A one pound loss is fine for a number of reasons:

a) It's better than remaining the same, or even showing a gain in weight.
b) Remember you have been doing loads of exercise. That will have burnt off fat and put on muscle. Both of these are good things. The extra muscle you have gained will enable you to burn off more fat even faster in the future. Muscle however is heavier than fat. So for example you could have burned off 3 pounds of fat and replaced that with 2 pounds of muscle giving you an overall loss of one pound. But, this is much better than it seems at first glance. Remember what MrG said "You are trying to burn fat not lose weight" "You need to build muscle to burn off the fat"
c) By averaging your loss at 1.5 pound per week you remain just inside the recommended maximum safe weight loss metrics. That's perfect! No loose skin for you my girl! I'm not so sure about me, though.
d) Let's be honest, you are pretty trim compared to me. I daren't even reveal my BMI on my tracker. You say you need to lose a couple of stones (and I doubt even that's true). I need to lose four and a half stone just to take my BMI to the top range of "Normal". It's kind of obvious that I've got more to go at than you have if you see what I mean. You'll certainly be down to your ideal weight long before I will.
e) Weight lost more slowly is much better, as it is less likely to return at a later date. Fact!

So let us have no more of this slightly gloomy demeanor - Ms Thrifty is bang on the mark here

Listen to Wise Ms T - This really isn't a competition or a race, it's about us all working together, supporting each other so that everyone on "Team FMUK Weightloss" successfully reaches their individual goals. o/ ....And by Jove we will!!

Valda - Great demonstration of self-control in dodging the post BGT take out! I'm impressed. Some nice food ideas going on there too. o/

Ms T - Loving the idea of a "cauldron" of stew - conjures up that scene on the heath from the Scottish play. Any "eye of newt" or "wing of bat" in there? 8O ....Oops no there can't be, I see now it is vegetarian. ;) o/

Been out with first Mrs Preston today walking in the countryside and soaking up the sun. Very enjoyable. Got my 8 miler with my mate walk tomorrow. Looking forward to it and even the poor weather forecast won't stop me. A tip I've learned from Master G.

I'm stealing breakfast ideas off Diane - Today's Meals (All now preceded by a large glass or two of water):

1) 100g Greek Yoghurt with handfull of blueberries.
2) Large Orange.
3) Tuna Salad Nicoise.
4) Salad Leaves with grated carrot, beetroot, new potatoes, prawns, squid, mussels, smoked salmon, humous with added paprika (see what I did there?).
5) Still undecided.

DRINK MORE WATER - YOU REALLY REALLY OUGHTA!
THE MORE YOU DRINK THE MORE YOU SHRINK!!

Thank you all for the support and I'm back into my positive frame of mind especially as I can smell my tandoori chicken cooking. I've got my yoghurt dressing anakin style prepared and salad at the ready, I had forgotten how much I like limes.
Well done everyone with the healthy food choices and Preston with your fabulous exercise regime o/

Really impressed with how everyone is doing! Whether it's 1lb or 3 it all counts, so keep it up!

I have made a spag bol (yet to make the spag) which I am hoping will curb my desire to eat a KFC burger (apparently advertising does work) though I'm not that keen on KFC... Also now have a craving for a cheese n beans jacket after a friend posted a pic on Facebook. Not trying to lose weight as such, just eat healthier... (perhaps some weight loss will follow)...

I'm off to the food thread to prompt some more inspiration!

I wish Mr G would hurry up and put his sponsorship link up

When I was on WW a few years ago, my weight loss was all over the place, 1lb here 1/2lb there, I was really disappointed for the first couple of weeks, then I realised I have a couple of small losses then a bigger one then small again, so things even out over a month. IN the words of Joe Jackson, 'don't you know its different for girls'
