Welcome from me too, Biggins.
Well done on losing that pound! There will be no stopping you now, because once you've made a start it becomes addictive.

Diane, it was really, really wet!
The walk was actually a little longer than the originally planned 8 miles. We covered just over 9 miles when I googled it. I never found my waterproof overtrousers, so the water ran straight off my barbour jacket and soaked into the thighs of my trousers. Lovely!
Twenty minutes in to the walk and I looked like I had been wading in the sea - my lower half including my water permeable mesh trainers (good choice!) could not have been wetter.
Surprisingly enough though I really enjoyed it. In no way shape or form could our pace have been described as "brisk". We just strolled at a leisurely pace having a good old chat, putting the world to rights, like two grumpy old men. It took us around 4 hours in all.
I'm not used to walking full stop. So 9 miles is a really long way for me - I take my hat off to Rawr - there's no way I could ever do 26 miles on the same day, or maybe even in the same week!
I felt fine after the walk apart from being soaked through. Last night my right foot/ankle seemed a little sore and achy and that's a little more noticeable today. I have a friend

who is a really good podiatrist who I'm thinking of maybe asking for advice
The ache is centred around the area in front of my ankle on the top outer edge of my right foot. I would describe it as coming from around the

inferior extensor retinaculum and extensor digitorum brevis muscle areas. Could it be a bit of mild tendonosis?

I don't think it's anything to worry about and I'm expecting it to settle down after a bit of a rest.
Today's Meals:
1) 2 weetabix, 2 big strawberries, small handfull of blueberries, semi skimmed milk. Black coffee,
2) Couple of sticks of cellery to snack on.
3) Jacket potato, corned beef and cottage cheese filling, Small side salad.
4) Tuna steak noodles. Dark soy sauce dressing,
5) Pear.
Oh yes, and loads of water all day!
