Saw this at a packed Southampton Odeon, mind you it was a small cinema. The film was better than i thought it would be,a few people jumped in certain scenes. Please note keep watching the credits as the film the kids made is shown cos most people left and missed it. o/ :D o/

Not sure what the connection to Super 8 is though?

Yeah I don't get the title either, with the name and the trailer i thought the crash gave the kids super powers or something but obviously that theory didn't stick and there are only 6 kids.

Super 8 is the kind of film used in cine cameras in those days.

Just went to see it last night, definately worth a watch. They made all the promo stuff a generic as possible as to not give it anything away. Granted it may not be everyones cup of tea, and it does slow down a certain points but over all its worth seeing.

I saw this at the Greenwich Odeon, quite a few late comers (but they all got seats) which led to a packed cinema and film very prompt starting at 6.30.

I thought the film was ok, but didnt think it was great. Few jumpy spots which I thought was good, but other than that, unfortunately didnt really do it for me. I too felt it had a kinda "goonies" feel to it slightly, but The Goonies is a top film and this didnt come close.

Saw this at a packed-out Whiteleys yesterday.
Definately had the Goonies/Stand by Me kinda vibe...which I liked and it was good to see a movie that was not filled by CGG.
Thought the kids acted brilliantly o/

I said this to my daughter during the film -- don't think the word "mint" was right. It's much more recent -- and the character ended up saying it three times in quick succession.

mint was in my schoolyard in the 80s, though I dont think it was around in the 70s.

it may have been a northern 'schoolism' that trickled south later (northern being proper english and that).

Oh I guess that makes sense but I was hoping for some cooler reason behind the name,

I don't think i've seen much of his work or more likely noticed his contributions/productions.
