Re: Unstoppable
i liked it too. Denzel made a good ordinary guy (hes old enough to), and even Chris Pine too despie being too young goodlooking.
8/10
i wonder how much of the film was real?

Re: Unstoppable
Saw this last night at Boldon......Thoroughly enjoyed it....thought it started off a tad slow but once the pace picked up i actually found my self breathing a sigh of relief at the near misses! Loved the ending ......did remind me slightly of another film that dezel was in with a train!

Re: Unstoppable
mm the soundtrack was very denzel too.. snippets of razor sharp guitar, scenes cut to shores of synth and normal sitting around scenes with pumped up beats and epic music that you get in a lot of his movies.

Re: Unstoppable
Saw this last Thursday in a pretty empty cinema - took 12 year old who threatened to leave if it didnt pick up in 10 mins near beginning but gradually we both became gripped at the sheer excitement of it all...I yelped a few times, bit my scalf... my heart was beating so fast... my son was covering his eyes...we both agreed it was fantastically filmed and the constant near misses had us on the edge of our seats. I felt like cheering at the end...Go Denzel!!!!
I loved this film
9/10 from both of us!

Re: Unstoppable
The film was so much better than I had expected :-) but it's one to enjoy on the big screen, I don't think you would get the same experience at home.

Re: Unstoppable
Shame I was ill when I had a ticket a few weeks ago, but as the last cinema trip until after Christmas, I'm glad I took it now.
Tony Scott is a cinematic godsend, when all other action thriller movies are dull, monotonous, full of poorly handled action and over the top shaky cam, Scott comes in and does what they are trying to emulate, and tells those other directors this is his business, Scott is in charge, they can frak the frak off.
One exquisitely silly, well paced, highly entertaining film, great character actors, stupid dialogue that works perfectly and every moment of jeopardy, like the horses and the derailing by the silos, are just so silly you can't help but be with the film, it's having a blast, and you're part of it. I beamed a massive smile during the film. Simply brilliant entertainment.
Now where's Scott's The Warriors?

Re: Unstoppable
OH has been away all week with work. He decided to go and see a film one evening, and nearly collapsed when he had to hand over money to get in to see this! He's been spoiled by all the free tickets, I tell you. The text message read 'Where are the free Vue vouchers when you need them?' Well, that's easy - they're in an envelope where I keep all my free tickets.
He thought it was excellent - 'one of the best I've seen all year.'

Re: Unstoppable
I was unlucky to be ill on two previous occasions when I had free tickets to see this, and because I'm not usually fussed about big dumb action movies I thought this one would pass me by. But I was looking for something to spend my voucher on and this was on at the right time.
I'm really pleased I went to see it. It was big, and it was pretty dumb, but ooh yes there was lots of action and I got caught up in it so the time flew by. I didn't understand a lot of the train talk, but it added authenticity. There were enough near misses to keep me on the edge of my seat.
I thought Denzel was excellent, and Chris Pine made a good, moody, handsome action-man. I liked reading in the closing credits what happened to the real life characters, and I thought they all got appropriately treated (I laughed at the outcome for the slacker who caused the whole thing to happen)
Surprised to be giving this 8/10
