so difficult to understand the strong Irish accents -- quite impenetrable to our ears. Great staging and excellent set but overall we felt disappointed.

That said -- still very happy that prettyxcool found a non-VIP code so we could spend an evening in the theatre so many thanks to her! We were also given a voucher for a free programme by someone (critic maybe?) who happened to have a spare so we lucked out all round.
I went too with my oh and two friends, and we got great seats in the stalls. I couldn't understand well what some of the actors were saying due to the strong accents, especially the lead actress (who according to my English friend had a mixture of West Indies and Irish accent). I enjoyed the play, but I don't think my friends liked it that much.

Oh, the guy who plays Arthur in the series Camelot was sitting 3 rows in front of me. :D
Saw the matinee of The Playboy this afternoon. Ruth Negga (she plays the publican's daughter) gets around, she is in the new Shirley BBC2 drama (now on!).

Supposed to be a comedy but I did not hear much laughter. But words were very lyrical and Irish accents very strong! So quite tiring for me to watch and I was also too tired anyway to give the show justice, as missed quite a bit by nodding off! Lovely to meet tarantinoed for the first time, and we had a nice chat, and thanks for trading seats with us, we got good seats in the stalls but tarantinoed's were five rows further front and said we should have them, so kind, and after the interval we moved one row further front so that I had no one in front of me to block my view! The guy next to us had just jetted in from Canada, so had jet lag and he was nodding off too. But yeah, I felt a bit disappointed by not truly understanding! But OH thought it was good.

Well I don't care what the critics say, I went to RoA for the second time tonight, along with my mum and a friend and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I saw the first preview show that SFF offered and thought tonight's show was a little slicker. We laughed so much, especially at Lonnie and came out with that real feel good feeling. I don't think the critics get that RoA is not really all about the story, it's about the music and humour.

Sadly it wasn't that busy tonight, quite a lot of people who had b*ght tickets in the Grand/Royal Circles were being offered upgrades to the front of the stalls, we were given seats in Row P of the stalls and were told that's the best seats that were being offered for SFF tonight, I wasn't going to complain.

As much as I would grab the opportunity to see this again should tickets be offered, I really do hope they actually start selling tickets and the show is a success.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

I've been feeling very ill since last night so I don't think I'll be able to make it :( I'll let you know if I go though.

Sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon. However I do need to catch up anyway - it is only going to be my fifth visit!

I'm going with a group of enthusiastic ROA virgins - should be interesting.
