Just come from Castleford.
Good film, worth a watch... Predicted it to be better.

EDIT: What's that dance called again? :P

Just returned from the Manchester screening about 75% full. The first hour was watching everyone arriving in Leicester Square and being introduced to Prince Charles and Camilla (Vivienne Westwood snubbed Prince Charles - no idea why). Really enjoyed it but not quite as good as it's hyped up to be 7.5/10. It started when Alice was a young girl and the first 30 minutes were like a scene from a period drama and then the story unfolds as in the fairy tale, I loved Matt Lucas as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum and Alan Rickman(I think as the caterpillar) Not sure how much I'm meant to say without spoiling it for anyone waiting to see it.
Thank so much from me and my daughter to a_person for the tickets o/

I enjoyed it more than I was expecting to. Although I thought the dance was spoilt by the choice of music, too modern and real world.
7/10

I noticed the Vivienne Westwood thing too, she was chatting and then stepped forward once Prince Charles had passed and talked to Camilla instead. Also the first in the line up was the chief exec for Odeon followed by 5 or 6 Disney top brass so no wonder they sorted their differences out. A laugh went round the audience when we also got the warning to stay in our seats during the credits until the royal party had left.

5rannoch saved us from a major bout of disorientation tonight - going round and round in circles in Milton Keynes! Got there for 7pm, we were crossed off the guest list and given 3D glasses. The screening room was fairly full already but we seemed to be one of the last to enter as no one sat to our right or in front of our middle row seats. And the lower bit stayed completely empty!

Enjoyed the red carpet bit, guessing who was who. I still can't remember what he is called but it was so funny seeing Marty McFly's Dad from Back to the Future say hi to the Prince of Wales! He played the evil companion of the Red Witch. We were wondering what Babs Windsor was doing on the red carpet until we learned that she was voicing the dormouse. Camilla's dress wasn't very flattering I thought but my God what WAS Helena Bonham Carter wearing?

I loved all the animation and computer trickery of the film - the Red Witch's big head, Alice increasing and decreasing in size, etc. Anne Hathaway as White Witch irritated me a little, but Matt Lucas as Tweedledum and Tweedledee was bang on the money. Unfortunately Johnny Depp is always going to be Johnny Depp, no matter how much makeup you put on his face. The Red Witch and her household were the funniest: "I love a warm pig belly for my aching feet". :giggle:

I'd say 7.5/10 is about right.

Was it called the futterwacker?
Anyways thought JD character was absolutely brilliant, I thought his eyebrows were the same as my hubs but the wrong colour. I really enjoyed the film and thought the red queen - Helena Bonham Carter was the spitting image of Queeny in Blackadder, maybe she based her character on this. Especially liked the Cheshire Cat, excellent, what can I say 9/10 brilliant film. JD swoon swoon. still looking good in his 40's. Mum said his hair was 'a mess' he he.

Rushed to get to the cinema in time from a parents evening and was a bit worried that we wouldn't make it in time.

Liked the red carpet bit at first but bored of it really quickly.

Really wanted to see this one and maybe my expectations were too high. The effects were good but overall the film didn't blow me away - I came away a little bit like I did with Avatar i.e. effects good but everything else a little disappointing. However, I wouldn't put anyone off going to see it.

As a person I really like Depp but I starting to get a little irritated that all his roles just seem to be....... well......... Depp really.

A 7/10 from me.

I actually thought Depp's role was quite different this time round actually..

And I actually enjoyed the storyline of Avatar...
