ClareBarr, Biggins, love the swimming activities. Swimming is the best form of all round of exercises as it provides both resistance work on your muscles and cardio without any hard impact on bones. To make it your swimming more effective, mix your strokes and do different intensities :) Great stuff, I hardly go for a swim as I got enough activities on my plate but I wouldnt hesitate in recommending it to any one pondering a choice!

Diane, Preston, your food diaries are becoming legendary now!

Rawr_xoxo, dont beat yourself up. You will never go back to your old ways because you have gained more knowledge of whats healthy for you and you made tremendous achievements. Just set your targets again, make it a good one and tell us ;) Eating out with friends at your age range is difficult to control, I know, but coerce them to get healthy with you and go for relatively healthier food/drink choices! If they are the "no way, I want my Long Island Ice Tea!" type, then tell'em "suit yourself" and stick to your slow sipping glass of wine and know you are going to look more a superstar than you already are while your friends look at you with burning jealousy :)

I noticed something very troubling lately on Facebook...everyone seems to be posting pictures of very attractive but most unhealthy deserts and cocktail drinks! Its like a virus spreading on Facebook, its everywhere! Even from my Edinburgh trip there is a picture of me drinking a delicious and admittedly exquisitely presented hot chocolate. Glad Havingascreen didnt take a picture of me downing a bottle of Fosters 2 nights before my marathon...oops I wasnt supposed to say that aloud...

I've removed the store location and ID details from the pic to protect the innocent! ;)

3) Italian Bean Soup (From the Waitrose "Love Life" range ;) - I kid you not - it must have aphrodisiac properties! :cross: )

4) Ham sandwich with english mustard in brown wholemeal bun.

5) Earl Grey Tea lemon slice and Toast with pâté.

Exercise:

1) 5.75 miles on my second best bike! - 27 mins today!

2) Half an hour on the rowing machine.

LOL @ Biggins and Mr G - That would be quite good for tackling that testing last hill before home. o/

I always think that it's going to beat me that one - but whilst it's been close, I've never had to get off and push yet, thankfully! :D

Oh yeah, I meant to mention before, it's lovely to have our motivational supporter Anakin back with us again. o/

Good luck with the rest of your reports ClareBarr - You are doing well - the end is in sight!! :D

Preston1990, that Waitrose receipt u posted.....did they actually give you £1.10 at the til then, cos of the 2for1 offer? That's mad! :)

Just done 32 lengths of the pool :-) did my first 10 lengths in 5 mins (then took the rest a bit slower). Not weighed myself since I started swimming again last Thursday.....will probably weigh myself on my gym scales tomorrow or so...fingers crossed I've lost a few lbs!!

The whole episode was bizarre Clare. After I packed my stuff into the bags, I put my credit card into the machine and was waiting to enter my PIN, then the conversation went something like this:

Checkout Lady - "No that's OK!"

Me - "Sorry?"

Checkout Lady - "No, It's free!"

Me - "You are joking - how's that?"

Checkout Lady - "It's because the two for one offers on your peas are giving you money back at the full not the reduced price! So we owe you more money than what your groceries have cost."

Me - "Are you sure?"

Checkout Lady - "Yes, so it's free!"

Me - "Actually, Don't you owe me £1.10"

Checkout Lady - "I'm sorry, we can't do that!"

Me - "I was joking - but are you sure that's OK? The stuff was pretty darned cheap anyhow!"

Checkout Lady - "Yes that's fine!"

Me - "Maybe I should go around again!"

Checkout Lady - "If you like!"

Me - "I'm going home. The world has gone mad!"

It must be, it's from the Waitrose "Lovelife" range! I'll report back later  ........Actually, don't worry I won't! ;)

Eeek! - You do know that I was just joking (i.e. suggesting that it was more a case of LMLD again) don't you?

Best of Luck with your weigh day tomorrow Diane. I'm so envious of you getting ready to jet off to the sun. We could do with more of that here. My weekly day out on the bike with my mate tomorrow looks like it could be a bit damp. :D
