WooHoo! Well Done Biggins o/ :cheer: :cheer:

Even the Sticky Toffee Pudding couldn't defeat you! :D

Have a fabulous holiday Diane 8-). Your thin arms and thighs will be sooo tanned! ;)

My planned bike day has been cancelled due to my mate's garage getting flooded yesterday

Ah well - at least it wasn't his whole house. I'll have to see if I can get out by myself today for a ride. :D

Still formulating my eating plans for today. Need to sort out the fridge and throw some stuff away today I think. That's always a grim task 8O

WELL DONE, BIGGINS!!!!
How brilliant is that and proof that sticky toffee pudding should be in everyone's weekly diet o/
Biggins wrote:Have a great holiday Diane65.
Thank you so much I'm so excited 8-)

Menu of the day:
Smoothie with banana only as my strawberries have disappeared it wasn't you Biggins on your fruit and fibre it was my daughter :noo: (200 calories)
Garlic sausage (the end is nigh - none left) salad roll and an apple (300 calories)
Boots shapers meal deal (should be under 500 calories)
200 calories of journey sweets.

Exercise of the day:
4 mile brisk walk and my exercise DVD as completely free until 4.30pm. In hindsight it may have been a good idea to work this morning and save 1/2 a days leave as I am just killing time until my flight tonight.

Dilemma lovely people my neighbour/ good friend has just asked me to let her know when I'm going on my walks as she says I've inspired her to lose weight which is lovely and she would love to join me. My problem is I have to walk past her house when I go on my walks but she walks really slowly so it wouldn't be any exercise for me (it takes me just under an hour to do 4 miles but with her takes about one and a half hours) and as I'm on limited time I wouldn't have time after to do my brisk walk - I can usual find an hour after work but not 2 and a half. She is lovely so I don't want to offend her hence the dilemma.

Aww, I hate when things like this happen!! I imagine the time you have to yourself is very precious!! It's best just to be honest .. explain how you have limited time and often decide on the spur of the moment to just 'get out there'!! Tell her you wouldn't be much company as you focus on trying to beat your 'time' each walk and you use that time to clear your mind, so you're not very chatty. Tell her you're pleased you've inspired her and encourage her to start walking by herself .. perhaps compare times, so she can see she's not in your league yet!! Failing that - reverse the route, so you pass her house on the way back!!

It sounds like she wants to 'buddy up' with the fitness thing. Rather than have her walking with you, perhaps share menu ideas .. encourage her to exercise indoors. Then at least she'll be part of it all, but not hindering you.

Very good point and thanks for your advice, I've just done my DVD and now doing my 4 mile walk - well 2 miles to the shops to choose new bedding (worked last night and late Wednesday night so can get one set (as I'm an organised sort of girl or mad  I have different lots of money for different things so evening/ private work goes on house treats, treats in general or holidays, NHS work goes on essentials and savings) - still no King size quilt ha ha)! DD is going to follow me in the car to carry things back and she can't be bothered walking  I will work the other way to avoid my lovely neighbour

Thin and my thighs can't be used in the same sentence :giggle: and thank you.

Why? Aren't you allowed out by yourself yet? ;) I hate throwing food away (don't do it) can't you make stuff and freeze it, I've just been given some rhubarb so I'm going to freeze it today and then it will be lovely with Weight Watchers custard on my return.

Welcome back ClareBarr and enjoy your swim o/

Well - You've allready got some cracking advice from Jojo and I think that what she suggests is great advice. You just need to be honest with your neighbour - that's at the heart of it. Explain that when you first started walking you weren't very quick but let her know that now you are. Tell her that if she came with you, you'd be worried that you would be going to fast for her to keep up, and yet it would be no good for you if you went slower because it wouldn't provide the workout you need.

Why not explain that the walking is only part of your fitness regime. Tell her about your change in diet, how consumption of :shifty: wagon wheels for example are now confined to your "evening/private work" ;) Lend her the most difficult exercise DVD that you can find, and tell her that when she can do it all without getting out of breath she'll be ready to join you.

Encourage her to find another friend of a similar ability to her own to start walking with in the meantime. She'll probably give up long before she reaches the required level - share your times with her so she can see how far adrift she is. Also tell her that you often go walking on the spur of the moment and similarly tell her that you often decide not to go sometimes at the last moment too.

I know exactly what you mean Diane about hating throwing food away. But I pick up food so cheaply (see some of my previous posts for an idea - not that I mention it too often on here, being a bit shy about discussing that sort of thing) that I often overbuy. Needless to say anything I b*y that can be frozen is. My freezer is always full to bursting point.

If I end up throwing away the odd bag of salad leaves, soggy cucumber or hairy tomato (Yuk) that I didn't make use of in time, I don't really mind as I may have b*ght several packs of each for pennies rather than pounds, and I probably used 95% or more of them. For example I recently pa*d under £20 for a load of shopping that would have been almost £200 at the full price. That is not untypical, and some of this kind of waste is unavoidable using my food b*ying strategy. It's a necessary evil, though I do try to minimise it. :D

Welcome back from me too ClareBarr, and enjoy your swimming o/
