Well it's all extra publicity for the film and now even more people will go and see it!

I do find it disturbing that an 11 year old is made to act that way though. There should be an industry protection. I am however a hypocrite, because I laughed my ass off at the dinner table scene with her daddy. But my Goody Conscience (which is thankfully very tiny) asks me heatedly, why am I laughing? I get annoyed because Mr Goody Conscience is spoiling my fun.

It is wrong. Hit Girl and the main star was on T4 yesterday which pre teens watch and I swear if I was a child, I would beg my ass off to watch kickass because it came across as a great family movie.

I hope when I watch Kick Ass, I can really enjoy it without Mr Goody Concience rearing its pretty head.

That dailymail story reference to Jonathan wife is hilarious though! Typical. But there is an underlying truth in the controversy with the 11 year old (even if the DM thinks it stirring s***) and it aint because of any media influence. I, for example, made my concern right at the beginning of this thread before any media paper started distributing the controversy and I sure as hell dont think I am unique, unless you guys want to make me feel very special...

The thing is, there are many movies that have kids swearing and doing things kids shouldnt be doing but I dont recall much bahoo about it being made. I can think of a couple of child Jodie Foster films for instance. They're damn great films too so I'm torn, is it right or wrong? I think its wrong but it sadly means we lose some good films. In book/comic form its fine because no real kids are involved.

Kids today are not as innocent as they used to be and that is a mighty understatement. Anyone over 30 will know that. Why? Several reasons. 1. The bar of censorship has been lowered drastically 2. The bar of cencorship means S**t because the internet has no bar and movies and videos are easy to obtain on internet 3. Anyone these days know what proper parent control is?

I guess what it all comes down to, many of us I am sure might think very deep down that it is wrong for a child to be made to act in lude ways but if its highly entertaining or serves a good story, then regards to the child, who gives a s***

Well thats what I mean when I say the film isn't as clever as it thinks it is, when it's so in your face ,when something like Leon the Professional, whilst it's violent was much more subtle. However it's unfair to judge it like that I guess, as this is based on a superhero comic!

Aah Leon, one of my favourite films...now I'm really torn about my agurment, lol. If you have the DVD, did you watch the deleted scenes and documentaries? There's a little more controversial stuff that they had Natalie playing out. But it still doesnt anywhere compare with Hit Girl and I am just going by the red band trailers, lol.

He's the producer! I was quite surprised apart from him, most of the people behind the film are British.

I watched this film last week. It was very funny, very enjoyable and quite teenage-boy-rude in places.

I think the age limit of 15 is appropriate, although I think there are a lot of teens out there who would thoroughly love to see this film

OK, I have given up hoping to keep quiet and work it out in due course: somebody please put me out of my misery and explain what is meant by these "red band trailers" which several posters have mentioned? I've seen the film, but I haven't seen any posters or trailers - do they have some sort of red stripe across them to indicate the age restriction?
