Depends what kind of a trip you're looking for, but I'd choose between NY or Vegas. Actually no, I'd just go to Vegas... again!

Re: Holiday Thread
Thanks guys for all your answers. Appreciate it.
New York sounds a better option plus there'd be always my favourite shops, dior, Gucci.. omg, imagine how much shopping I could do. I'm not sure Last Vegas is my thing.

Thanks, I'll ask mcm - she'll know! She'll also know all the good shopping spots!
Miami seems to be a wet season during May/June which is when I want to go.Beate wrote:New York is a city I have always wanted to visit as there is so much to see and do. It's got weather extremes though and can become very hot in summer and very cold in winter. I'd say Miami is more evenly temperatured but I am not sure what you do there apart from lie on the beach. Las Vegas should be worth a visit just for being so unbelievably weird and over the top. And what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...
My friend and I don't drink, shouldn't be a problem. I have always wanted a tiger so I wouldn't mind!kobbing wrote:Just don't get your mate so drunk you end up leaving him on the roof of a hotel or steal Mike Tyson's tiger while you're there lol
Gross, I'd like to come back single thanks! Wouldn't mind the money though. Could kiss my job goodbye and then FMUK around all day!Beate wrote:Or you could end up married to a stranger and win £3million dollars together.
Not even sure what a CSI tour is so I guess that answers your assumption.mattymc13 wrote: Sounds like you're going on the CSI tour.
Gambling not my thing.prettyxcool wrote: New York, lots to see and do, especially shopping; and I guess Miami for sun worshipping, Las Vegas for the shows and gambling! What time did you go? What was the weather like? What didn't you like about it?cheekyweelassie wrote:My vote would be New York too, as it has something for everyone (theatre, art, music, shopping, zoo, Central Park)
Miami would be good for sunbathing, though I don't think it has much else going for it.
I skirted right around Las Vegas when I went across America as I have no interest in that kind of full-on place, but each to their own.
Cool, have you been Sparrow? When did you go? Did you enjoy it?The Sparrow wrote: You can do everything in Vegas. Sun bathing, sight seeing and shopping is fabulous plus the obvious gambling and phenomenal shows.
lol you'd say that cos you're "thedude." I guess it's more of a guy thing. Anything to recommend that you did in Vegas that makes it more fab than NY?thedude wrote:Depends what kind of a trip you're looking for, but I'd choose between NY or Vegas. Actually no, I'd just go to Vegas... again!

Re: Holiday Thread
It depends what you're into I guess. I've only been to New York and Miami, (I'm not 21 yet so I doubt I'd have much fun in Vegas) but New York definitely wins that battle. I only went to Miami for the day from Orlando and all we did was go to DASH, Miami Ink (and I suppose these are only interesting if you've seen the shows), sit on the beach and go on a cruise round the houses of the rich and famous. Now I love to just laze around on the beach but I'm not really one to spend my whole holiday doing that, I need other stuff. If you're prepared to drive Miami could be pretty good, its pretty close to the Everglades, there are all the theme parks up in Orlando and the Kennedy Space Centre (but you'd have to set off super early to do the last two). New York is BRILLIANT I don't think I could ever get bored and there really is something for everyone, you have the shops, the museums, the theatres, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, Bronx Zoo, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre, Staten Island Ferry the list goes on and on and on.a_person wrote:Which is better? Re: Holiday Thread
If you're travelling May/June, that's definitely edging into the hurricane season in places like Florida...
What kind of trip are you looking to do? Is it a girly shopping/clubbing city break, or a lazy beach holiday, or an epic trip of a lifetime?
Las Vegas isn't all about gambling, there's loads to do, and it will probably be cheaper, more friendly and less hectic than NYC. For me it was the starting point on a long trip (Vegas-Grand Canyon-LA-San Francisco), stopping in many smaller places along the way. Can't recommend it enough.

Thailand in the first two weeks of July.
Italy hopefully end of May/Early June although the prices are soaring at the moment.

b*y your Euros soon (if you have cash), I reckon they could fall a little more over the next few weeks and than recover as Eurozone problems start becoming better
