Re: What Did You Watch Last Night?
finished The Village. At times the show is a bit of a trial to watch, layers of misery and superfluous deadend characters. Towards the end, some of the best tv on the beeb evolves with a focal ending on PTSD of a soldier back from the trenches of WW1.
Stick with the opening episodes for a poignant look on the crushing after effects of a war that makes brad pitt's War Z feel like a light skirmish. Soldier Joe's plight profoundly effected me, I am just close to tears simply recalling it so vividly and powerfully was it depicted on tv.
The intros are excellently done too, let down a little by the actor looking far too young to play the oldest man in Britain.

Really enjoying it, but I think next time there is a short series, I'll wait and watch the whole thing in one sitting, because I absolutely hate to wait for the next episode. Especially when it's the last episode. I'm talking to you too, Arne Dahl!
I finished the Series. Excellent!! And it's To Be Continued .......!!!

Finished S3 of Mad Men yesterday and watched the S4 opener.
I'm glad I gave the series another shot as it's really won me over second time around...it's wonderful to see such interesting, complex female characters take centre stage in a mainstream ensemble piece like this.

Someone at work recommended this so based on that and your feedback I'll add it to my LoveFilm list.badcoverversion wrote:Finished S3 of Mad Men yesterday and watched the S4 opener.

If you're a fan of character driven drama and the slow build as opposed to showy set pieces then I'd definitely recommend it. It does look incredibly alluring as well...and there's enough beautiful faces to keep every gender and orientation satisfied. <shallow>RickyRaj wrote:Someone at work recommended this so based on that and your feedback I'll add it to my LoveFilm list.badcoverversion wrote:Finished S3 of Mad Men yesterday and watched the S4 opener.

I initially lost interest after a season and a half...I can't even remember why.

I'm making my way through The Fall which has been on BBC 2 (I think) for the past month or so. It's great, highly recommend.
