Re: Super 8
I absolutely adored this film.
Such a hark back to my favourite films of the 80s and would re-visit this numerous times.
10/10 from me. Fantastic!

Re: Super 8
I finally got around to seeing this film, and overall I loved it. It was just like being swept back to my childhood.
I liked the little side plots which added more interest and depth, and I thought the train scene was really well done. There were some nice funny moments, a bit of sentimentality which was never saccharine, some proper jumpy bits and some full-on blowing stuff up.
I think it worked really well up until about the fourth quarter, when the monster was revealed. To be honest I thought the monster was a bit pants, and I preferred it when we just got a fleeting glimpse of something when a building got upturned or a car flipped over. I didn't really think it was necessary to see the beast and I think the film started skidding off track until the end. Shame.
It was definitely worth hanging on to see the kids' movie after the initial credits. That was so much fun.
9/10

I really want to see this film, it's right up my street (genre wise). Just wanted to ask those who have seen it, do you feel it is suitable for 6 to 10 year olds?

It's not scary but there are a few scenes where you see blood splatter and half bodies but it might not be suitable for a 6 year old, it does have a 12a rating i think.HowieJaved wrote:I really want to see this film, it's right up my street (genre wise). Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Is your child easily scared? Cause I had adults next to me both times who jumped in some scenes.

Re: Super 8
Well my kids have seen all the Harry Potter films, don't really watch any other horror as such. I think I will take my 8 & 10 year olds but leave my 6 year old for this film. Thanks for the adviceBeate wrote:Is your child easily scared? Cause I had adults next to me both times who jumped in some scenes.
