Wow - A moving story Barry! Who would have thought that of our very own Diane?

All I can say Barry is commiserations, Mate 8O - that must have been a terrible time for you, but I think you'll find that Diane is a changed woman now. I've never actually met her to be honest, but I've heard some very positive things about her which show her in a very caring light. Although, I can recall a post from Steve which mentioned that she had a "dark side"........Whatever, I'm sure that was just an out of character blip that we all have from time to time. 8O

If anyone reading these threads has been affected by Barry's story or any of the issues it raises, you can contact Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90. Calls from BT landlines are charged at no more than 4.5 pence per minute, plus a set up fee of 12.5 pence between 7am and 7pm. Mobile and other providers' charges vary and may be considerably more. Or you can visit the Samaritans.org website for more information.

Anyhow......There's nothing to be gained from dwelling on the past, so I think we should all move on.

I wanted to thank everyone who sent me "Well Done" messages today after my weigh-in and to offer my own "Well Done" to Diane - No, not for the school bullying episode  , but rather for her magnificent continued weight-loss achievements. o/

Nice to see Biggins is keeping up with the exercise and that ClareBarr is sticking with her new diet regime! o/ Fingers crossed for an early improvement with your pain situation Clare. :cross:

I'm out and about early tomorrow so I'll just sum up my plans for tomorrow here:

Biking and Eating fish based meals.

Be good everyone! ;)

 This made me smile as I love aniseed balls and black jack sweets and I think that anyone would surrender their sweets if I threatened to kiss them 8O

As I've not lost the plot - just been looking at the recipes that MrG posted http://www.sparkrecipes.com/, they have some fabulous recipes on there, going to make some pizzas http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-d ... ipe=307730 over the weekend. There are hundreds of recipes on there to suit anyone and everyone so please do have a look.
Also found a fab recipe for Chilli and butternut squash quesadillas http://www.womanandhome.com/recipes/531 ... uesadillas which I will also try plus I've got my peas, potatos and ginger in to make anakin's soup. I'm loving all these new recipes to try o/ Just got a new wok last week so tried it out tonight - I must say I'm very impressed as my old one (it was a wedding gift 25 years ago  ) had had its day and had to throw it away after the handle fell off. I was making a sweet and sour for my daughter as everyone here except for me is a bit fed up of vegetable curry.

Biggins please may I have some of your soup recipes? Thanks so much o/

Morning all. Can't believe it but it is a dry day here today!! :shifty: Well at the moment anyway!! Hubby and I are going to the Botanic gardens in Edinburgh today as haven't been there for a long time even though it is not far from us. So a good long walk round the grounds and a stop for coffee. Nothing planned yet for later today will wait - again - on what the weather is going to be like. :(

Breakfast - Bowl of fruit and fibre and banana. Cup of tea. Lunch - undecided yet. Tonight - chicken, pasta, broccolli, cherry tomatoes. yoghurt to follow. Cup of tea and perhaps a couple of oatcakes tonight before bed.

I don't really have soup "recipes" Diane as I said before I am a "bung it and see" soup person. I often have vegetables left over as hubby doesn't eat many so I just use a couple of knorr stock cubes and put it all in and add potato and an onion to the leftovers and blitz it up or sometimes just chop it all up and add some rice instead of potato to thicken it. A few times I add pasta and herbs to more tomato and carrot based leftovers. Just taste as you go and you'll find what works for you and it is a great way to get your leftovers used up.

Hope the weather behaves itself today. Enjoy your treat day Diane. o/

Well the weather has been fantastic today! Me and a mate have had the mountain bikes out in the glorious Northumberland countryside for a bit of exercise. We covered 42 miles! - sounds quite impressive huh? Well maybe not if it was Bradley Wiggins, but for us that's pretty good going. Anyway it was our longest trip to date. We are trying to build up to about 60 miles per day before we try and tackle the "Coast to Coast" Bike Ride malarkey, so there's still some way to go yet! :D

I've developed really sore arms and face due to the sun, and :shifty: a sore backside too  due to sitting on the bike for the best part of 5 hours today! Still "no pain - no gain" and all that.

It's the last day of "Preston Eats Fish" today. Which leads me on to Today's Meals:

1) Two weetabix with skimmed milk. Black Coffee.

2) Two king prawn and Hellmans lightest of the light mayonaise sandwiches in brown wholemeal bread.

3) Fresh pineapple chunks and satsuma segments.

4) Fresh Salmon steak a la George Foreman with asparagus and enrobed in shop b*ght hollandaise sauce.

5) Pot of Earl Grey tea with lemon. Toast and smoked mackerel pâté.

Sounds like a load of food doesn't it, but I have cycled 42 miles so I think I deserve it!! ;)

You can't run a car without petrol you know............well, not unless it's a diesel of course  .......but you know what I mean!! :D

Hope everyone else has enjoyed their days. Biggins your Botanic Garden trip sounds great - just the weather for it too if you've had the same as us. o/

Frigging heck Preston that is a bike ride and a half 8O Well done that is fabulous o/

Hope you had a fun day Biggins at the Botanic gardens and good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. o/ I'm going to copy your idea of putting pasta in my soup - I won't try it with anakin's pea soup that I'm making this weekend as it has ginger and cumin seeds in it so it won't really go but if someone made it for me I would eat it

Nandos was lovely Biggins thanks.

Preston I am amazed that you could cycle 42 miles!! 8O Very impressed - you should lose a lot of weight this week.

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your meal Diane. I have only been to Nandos once with a friend but wasn't very impressed with it as the chicken was all bone and skin so it put me off going back. Talking about chicken - chicken soup with pasta in it is nice. If I have cooked a chicken I use the stock from it and add the scraggy bits of chicken and some chopped carrot and sweetcorn and you can add any type of pasta to it.

Weather was good today so had a nice walk with hubby round the botanic gardens. Not a very brisk walk as my husband has breathing problems so we just strolled round at a leisurely pace. Went out this afternoon on my own for another walk.
