Re: Weight Watchers

#2981 Post by biggins » Fri Aug 03, 2012 8:32 am

Weighed myself this morning and delighted to say the walking and swimming are working so don't give up Clarebarr as I have lost another 2lbs this week. :D :D

It is another dry day here so going to walk into Princes Street (should take about half hour from here) and have a look round the shops and b*y something nice for tonight as running out of ideas for meals.

Has anyone else got the same problem - I ask hubby what would you like for tonight? Oh, anything he replies. So I say what about xxx. No he says anthing but xxx. So you suggest something else and you get the same response - no I don't fancy that. So after several rejected suggestions you feeling like saying- you choose something and cook it! :wall: He doesn't cook so I am left trying hard to come up with something that will be to his liking and I just eat that.

Moan for today over - love him too bits but men do drive you insane sometimes. Are you listen Preston? ;)

Have a good day everyone. o/

Well done biggins for your 2lbs weight loss!! I'm weighing myself at the gym today but I'm not sure if I've lost much as I've been indoors the past 3 days not able to do much. Feeling better today though.

Well I've been up since 7.30am today, bounded out of bed (hardly ever do that!!), feeling much better today, & had the urge to do my exercise dvd! I did 23 minutes of it (it's quite high energy!), & am just sitting to a relaxing breakfast now. I'm really into my book (anyone else read Karen Rose?) so will find a cafe in town later to read some more for an hour or 2, then swim, then I'm using 2 free vouchers to take my bf to see Ted tonight. So a nice day planned, with some good exercise in it too :)

Just wondering, what exercise dvds do you all use? I've tried a few over the years but none that I've really got into. The one that I use now is called "Ministry of Sound: Pump it up hi-energy" & it's fab!

Have a good day everyone x

Glad to hear you are feeling better Clarebarr. I think when the weather is nice it is better to be out and about and makes you feel so much better in yourself.
I don't have an exercise dvd now. I used one years ago and my friend used to come up and we would do it together but we did less and less and ended up having a coffe instead! LOL! Personally I find I get bored with them so that is why I swim instead.

Have a lovely day out and enjoy your book and film. o/

I have a couple of workout dvds (the Coleen Nolan one has never been opened, but I do intend to do it one day!!) .. my youngest daughter is BRILLIANT at doing them. She puts everything into it and sweats buckets!! The last time I tried doing one with her (a really intense one!) .. we were in her room and there was a lot of side stepping - i ended up on the landing, doing my best through the doorway!!!

Wow - We are all doing wonderfully well! I've never heard such great enthusiasm and tales of solid achievement from everyone on here. What a great advert for the benefits to be gained by becoming part of our fee free Weight Watchers thread.

Come on you lurkers show yourselves and join in properly. We are a friendly bunch largely - although :shifty: stories have come to light recently about Diane's past behaviour that frankly have surprised us all 8O :shifty:

In particular Biggins has done fabulously well to lose another 2 pounds this week. All that swimming and walking is doing great things for you. Tremendously Well Done!! o/

ClareBarr it's wonderful to hear that you are feeling much better and able to do your exercise DVD and go swimming again too. Good luck with the weigh-in - I've got my fingers crossed for you :cross:

Yeah, I'm hearing your :shifty: sexist and politically incorrect :nono: remarks Biggins ;) - but the females that I live with (especially my daughters, bless them) pretty much display that sort of behaviour too. Only I have it from at least 2 and sometimes even 3 of them (if the wife is joining in too) at the same time. So I assure you it's not a gender specific problem - you ladies can be hard work too!

Your hubby would cook in some sort of fashion if you were away and he got hungry enough wouldn't he? My kids do eventually if I leave them to it - it's never really worth it though, because the kitchen looks like a bombs hit it with stuff strewn everywhere and just left. It takes ages to tidy up after the little darlings.

I reckon anyone can cook if they want to - Yes even Blokes! :P If they don't then that's just down to a kind of disinterested laziness or having someone available who is only too willing to do it for them. I do agree with you that it's darned annoying though! :D Maybe you should encourage him to chose and prepare a nice meal for both of you one evening and then he may understand and appreciate where you are coming from a bit more. o/

Ah well enough of putting the world to rights ......... I'm doing gardening, housework (yes even though I'm a bloke ;) ) and car and bike maintenance today. Do you know that my wife never ever fixes the car, climbs on the roof to replace the TV aerial or takes the garden waste to the tip  Does anyone else have this problem.?........... ;)

Enjoy your days people o/ :D

Some amazing results here! Well done everyone! Losing count of how much weight you've all lost / muscle you've built! And Preston, those rides sound exhausting (but well worthwhile)!

Went for a fancy dinner last night (anniversary!) and did a Diane. Could barely eat any of it, which is unlike me. Plates were huge and OH's calamari salad starter was big enough for two at least! We brought all the left overs home so food sorted for tonight at least! Waiter thought we were hilarious and suggested we got dessert to share as he couldn't pack that. When we said we didn't want one at all, he thought that was best! Cheeky!

OMG, totally sympathise! OH tells me I'm so indecisive, but it's because whatever I choose, he doesn't like, and I'm reasonably easy going. Perfect example a few days ago. We go to the supermarket, but grab lunch at the shopping centre beforehand. OH tells me to choose. WIthout hesitation, I said Zizzi. No was his response. So I made him choose. Boys are so silly!

Biggins, make what you like and if he doesn't like it, he can lump it or make a decision. If you're cooking, he can at least be helpful in deciding, or accepting that he gets what he's given if he doesn't! He'll soon learn! (Hmm, sounds like I'm talking about kids... oops...)

I admit to lurking lately, but I shall emerge, temporarily at least, to observe that this is one place where it's great to be a loser and that you are all brilliant at it!

LOL, well spotted Jojojoanne. I guess I have become somewhat of a lurker recently :)

Well done everyone, thats probably the biggest group progress I've seen yet, you're all awesome and very inspiring o/ o/

Love the Bike riding diary, Preston, I wish I was brave enough to ride a bike in London but I am just too scared of the traffic! I even stopped driving full stop for fear of being caught up in a road rage and even hitting someone down myself. I dont trust my temperament in driving. (though I also mainly stopped driving because I am so much more healthier and richer for it ;) )

Clarebarr's, Biggins your Olympic swimming and walking diaries rocks :P Swimming is another activity, I really should try go back into, particularly if I have thoughts of doing a triathlon in future

Clarebarr, I know its off topic but loved your school teacher re-union story, very sweet :)

What an amazing success story you all are o/ o/ o/

Oh and Preston is right about this being a fee free...fee free!? ok fee free Weight Watchers thread, in fact, I dare say this is the real Mcoy ;)

Well, to join in with your inspiring schedule planners, mine is a squash match this evening. All racket sports are a great fat burning activity as its a form of interval/fartlek training. If you remember interval/fartlek training is about working out at various intensities, low and high in the same session. This burns fat a great deal more than doing a steady intensity of exercise for the same duration. So I know when I play squash/badminton or do running intervals, my body will be burning fat quicker, not just during the session but for the rest of the evening and at night while sleeping. Tomorrow, I will see Sound of My Voice in central and then run 8km back to a gym near my home and do a workout there. Then Sunday I have a cricket match. I always do a week ahead schedule diary of my exercises but havent done one yet for next week, must do it later today :)

Keep it up, you are all so super inspiring, gold medals to all of you :)
