Re: Little White Lies
Yep, forgot to say I also thought that Max looked like Dustin Hoffman, it was uncanny!

Re: Little White Lies
Dustin Hoffman, a brunette Meg Ryan (Marie). Time did seem to fly by and i was surprised when i looked at my watch although the film did drag a little at bits. Loved the script, witty and clever and the metaphors’ relating to the repressed sexual tension between Max and Victor was wonderfully black (as mud). I loved the setting of this film and could really feel that sun on my face and water under my toes. Thought we could have seen more of Ludo at the beginning to create a little empathy for the characters, all those tears at the end left me cold although Dolly Pocket was bawling beside me.marjoreemarjora wrote:Yes agree with Alythonian kept thinking I was looking at Dustin Hoffman. Film way too long for me, enjoyable but could have had at least 30 minutes taken out of it.
Lovely to watch the holiday scenes, would have loved to have a shot of the tyre skiing or whatever, shame I am a non swimmer.
Sadly tho only 6/10 for me
7/10 from me

Re: Little White Lies
Reviews seem to be mixed for this.
I wonder if anyone won tickets to the gala screening?

Re: Little White Lies
Such a brilliant film. I went into this planning to leave early cos of how long it was, and the fact that it wasn't in English. But this is by far the best preview screening I've been to. Such a good film. Funny, but also a tear jerker.
Films Seen This Year: No idea - plenty!

Re: Little White Lies
Saw this in Bristol, which started about 30% full , but once the illiterate members in the audience realised that reading was involved, we dropped to about 20%. With regard to the film I really enjoyed it. I agree with previous comments about it being a tad long, but the acting was great and the cinematography was excellent throughout...7/10.

Somebody just sent me a message claiming I have revealed too many spoilers. Naturally I disagree. But the person seems to be on their high horse about it, so if anybody agrees, feel free to delete my views.

It was all a honest accident! I was sad that you and mcm had left me!

Re: Little White Lies
How can so many Cineworlds manage to f**k up the showings of this tonight? All simultaneously. Lol.
I saw this in Edinburgh tonight and I absolutely loved it. My only concern was not managing to keep up with some of the rapid subtitles, as well as the occasional white subtitles on a white backround being hard to see let alone read. I took a French guy called Max as my +1 and he loved it too! I thought it was very funny in parts, tearjerking in others and I loved the number of gasps of horror when a certain announcement was made, particularly one vocal lady! Was that you Alythonian? Lol
I was surprised at how 2.5 hours had flown by. Always the mark of a good film when you fail to notice the passage of time.
I'll give this 8/10 easily.
