Just the ending was sad - well, to me as a person whose husband is reaching retirement age but is afraid he may have to carry on working, if you know what I mean?

Preferred cinemas:
Central London and North London as far north as the Hampstead Everyman including Picturehouse Hackney/Notting Hill Gate - but not Wood Green and North Finchley as they are just a bit too far.

Saw this at Shatsbury Ave last night and really enjoyed it. It was very well acted, which can be expected when Paul Giamatti is playing the likeable cad. While it was predictable in ways, the emotions at the heart of the story held my interest. It was definitely light on comedy, with the best moments coming from Bobby Canavale's Terry, whose self-deprecation was brilliantly portrayed. I was surprised that Jeffrey Tambor was as under-used as he was- so much so that he sort of just disappears from the story altogether as it reaches it's climax. I thought the wrestling was a nice way to expand Kyle's character as it allowed him to open up in a way that focused on his individual abilities within a team setting without feeling clichéd.
I agree that the end of the film is bitter-sweet and while it was presented as upbeat, I cannot help but wonder how long that feeling would last in such a real-life situation.
A heart-warming 8/10 from me.

Yes, thanks for thinking of me. Luckily I changed the name on the ticket for mine just in case. Thanks again.

As I got into the ID check, too - but I was lucky it was my ticket - I was wondering about that. Did you e-mail SFF's change of name option? How long did it take? Can they do it immediately?

SFF don't change the name on the ticket, they just provide you with an email saying the person using this ticket will not match the name on the printout.

See, that's the kind of cleverness they are missing in The Apprentice! Well done on your quick thinking.

Saw this at WIQ last night - cinema wasn't very full, but a fair few late comers!
This was perfectly understated and just what I was expecting. Shame to hear a few people were disappointed, I really liked it. I loved that the people were fairly normal rather than exaggeratedly dysfunctional cliches. Despite the slightly sad ending, it did leave me with a nice little warm feeling, not a big gushy hollywood warm feeling, but just a niceness. 8.5/10 from me.
