Colombiana
Re: Colombiana
True, Leon was the best but I still like the others.
And when I want to have a laugh I watch The fifth element. I love every single piece of it!!! And the soundtrack is sooo good!

Sydney Bristow, if you see this then you won't be disappointed. Michael Vartan is in it. You should recognise the name - from Alias.

Re: Colombiana
he was actually director on those (I like all the films he had directed, no exception)... most of his productions are rubbish thoughramaloo wrote:True, Leon was the best but I still like the others.

Re: Colombiana
Yes, I think I can go along with that - in fact, you sort of expected Jason to turn up - it's his type of film. I liked it - the storyline was simple and direct - a fairly good thriller. I didn't have to think a lot about it to know where it was going. We all knew what the outcome was going to be. The action scenes were good, though not great, and the fight scene towards the end was one of the best I've seen in a long time.thedude wrote:Hmm, just flicking through the new Empire mag, they give it 2 stars, calling it a "Transporter movie minus Jason Statham".
Possibly 7/10 from me (I'm feeling generous)

To be honest - that is true but I know many.
And I have to say that I have a big sentiment to "Le Grande Blue" (The Big Blue). I have seen full version of this movie just 2 years ago! Shame really.

Re: Colombiana
A formulaic action flick that has some decent fight scenes but fails to engage the audience. Saldana does quite well in playing the cold, distant assassin struggling to connect with her family and boyfriend. But I never really sympathised with her; her parents were murdered which traumatised her and she is driven for a desire for a revenge but this obsession is not explored enough. This narrow minded nature of the film meant there was no character development and the final act, when she realises the consequences of her actions, feels mismatched with the tone of the rest of the film.
A large part of the film is far fetched including the escapes and elaborately planned assassinations. As a result of this, I found it hard to take the film seriously and my mind switched off. It ended up as mindless entertainment in what is essentially a middle of the road film. Easy viewing but there is not much substance to this and skates by off some good action sequences. 6/10.
