102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

I suppose it can't be as bad as films that don't even do press screenings. You know it's bad if they daren't have any previews.

Wow! Now that's integrity! And here I was already contemplating vengefully downloading it off the net when it's available on VOD, 3 weeks after its theatrical release.

*EDIT* Universal have dropped their VOD plans on this movie: http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/10/ ... 8720111012

BTW I was kidding about the downloading thing in case anyone was planning on reporting me to the authorities ;-)

Oh bollocks the embargo, I haven't signed one saying I can't talk about the fiasco at the cinema, have I?

I don't mind press in general, and it's not their fault that management deemed them more important than your average SFF ticket holder, but I have never been made to feel so small and second class citizen as tonight. Most FMUK people were there very early, OH and I plus ejwrank queued up from 10 to 6 and others like MCM, hdaniel82 and hopeprince were already there. We were then told to form an orderly queue outside, which is fair enough, but it was offputting beyond belief to then watch hundreds of people being let in in front of us. If it's that oversubscribed in the first place, why hand out tickets to SFF? Why not make it first come first served, which would only be fair? Some of those press people were awfully late in, like they can't even be bothered to be on time, while others waited almost an hour outside. Not cool. And again, I hold no press responsible, only organisers.

Thankfully, we did get in, and we did get good seats in the upper part, though not together. It started at 6.45pm, and I think there were 2 trailers shown, but I can't for the life of me remember what the films were. I bet it's not embargoed either to say that Ferris Bueller looks awfully middle-aged these days!

I would give this film a middle of the range score, and the best thing about tonight was ejwrank pointing out a free pizza giveaway on the way to the cinema!

Press members got first preference tonight, so only after they were seated did management allow the remaining non-Press members in. Unfortunately due to the lack of space, the lucky few were escorted into the theatre in pairs (one pair for every 10 minutes). At around 18h45 a bouncer came out and told us that there weren't any more seats available and suggested that we email the group that had invited us, and hopefully score a set of comps.

So with SFF, aside from mentioning it on the survey, what else can I do? From past experience, SFF really aren't very good with responding to e-mails.
I was not able to get in too. And very doubtful about all those got in first are press member? I wasted 30-40 mins queuing.... and Cineworld did not even offer another film showing!!!
I agree, this was a complete waste of time! It was no annoying seeing all these press latecomers get in there ahead of the showfilmfirst queue! I'll send an email to lucky Luke, not that it will make any difference anyway...
