Some of the audience were doing that at my screening too, and I was thinking those moments were depressing. If I was to give them benefit of the doubt, their mindset was probably desperate for some humour in this film becuase I have to say it was completely humourless.

I think the slight fading was meant to suggest dream sequences. I noticed it too in Edinburgh so must have been intentional.

I agree this was deliberate suggesting the distance from reality at times.

Just in the last few months she's been in Tree of Life, The Debt, The Help and now this, but she's looked very different in each.

So just because you didn't p*y for it, it is acceptable to be treated like shit?
I'll wait for ejwrank to explain her reasoning, as it went over my head.

The Islington Duty Manager gave us some song and dance as to why she couldn't give us vouchers -- a total load of nonsense but she claimed as it was a SKY film they were responsible. I mentioned that SKY had no doubt pa*d them handsomely to have an entire screen and Vue should have got the technical side right. She suggested we write to Vue (don't worry little Duty Manager, we will) and see what they say. She tried to be nice but of course it is easy for her to say she would have compensated us with free tickets had we pa*d, when she knew she wouldn't have to do so.

I made a point of telling her that Islington Vue is my local cinema and as they always manage to mess up our free screenings (that is 3 so far in a few months), that I would never return as a p*ying customer and others might feel the same. So they will lose out in the long run--especially if everyone puts it on Twitter -- please tweet on my behalf!

Beate wrote:One thing I have learned from tonight - I will never ever freaking ever be nice again and move down one seat (asked or unasked) to provide two seats next to each other for people because that means those people have the opportunity to TALK to each other. And that must be avoided at all costs. I propose that everyone splits up in a cinema from now on. It won't sort out the mobile phone checking and sweet rustling, but otherwise the noise level should go down. And I might just print out copies of the Wittertainment code for cinema etiquette and hand them out randomly to my neighbours. Who's with me?
Did I mention the phone that went off in our screening? It rang, and rang. After about the 8th or 9th ring I looked around thinking the person must be unable to find their phone or something but a woman was just sitting their with her phone in her hands not cancelling the bloody call and letting it ring and ring and I had to tell her to turn it off! Honestly...I was stunned how anyone could lack so much decency. And don't get me started on the crowd during Twilight a couple days ago. It wasn't even kids, but adults who were more interested in spending the whole movie talking away to each other and doing things which should only be done in a bedroom, not in the middle of a 12a!!!!!

Urgh, we had that during Immortals - to our right was a couple, I guess young adults - if you want to classify them like and it was clear they needed a cheap hotel - what better way then to save on the cheap hotel and do it in the cinema instead.
