I too enjoyed this, light hearted cheesiness exactly as I expected. It looks like we are the only 2 who think so. 8/10ClareBarr wrote:My friends and I loved this!! No positive reviews on here?! Laughing out loud at many points during the film. Some very cheesy moments, but overall a good feel-good movie. 8/10 from me!

Re: New Year's Eve
Meh this was hardly worth the effort it took to travel to the cinema. So many characters and so many stories, it is difficult to engage or care about anyone, and most of them were boring. No couple had any chemistry and some of the pairs felt awkward and badly matched. The subplots were all dull and such lazy efforts were made to make the stories overlap. It was distinctly lacking on the 'rom' and 'com'.
It was interesting watching the famous faces appear in such one dimensional roles. Two points to note:
Katherine Heigl needs to re-do her roots
Michelle Pfeiffer looks sooooo old!
The best part was the blooper reel over the end.
3/10.

Massive thanks to the lovely ejwrank for tickets!
It must be that time of the month or something but I loved it! Bf not so much. Only managed to drag him along because I promised him some rock. Sadly Jon didn't quite serve up his usual bad medicine (winks @ des) ...although castor oil did feature.
I'll just have to rock bf's world tonight. Meh.......it's too nipply and I'm starvin marvin. Chinese takeaway & choc pud with hot (instant) custard (Shhhhs don't tell Glassy

Re: New Year's Eve
Super silly and cheesy and disappointed that in between the gazillion ads for snack food, Toshiba computers, the new Sherlock Holmes movie and Mama Mia the Musical they couldn't squeeze in one for Rock of Ages (it is Times Square after all! There was a serious lack of musical posters), yet I still laughed on more than one occassion; particularly so at the I-am-almost-ashamed-to-admit-this Zac Efron storyline (the silly dance at the end, lol). 7/10
