Agree with this really, although didn't hate it quite as much. Well acted considering the dross they were given. Also included half the cast of The Wire which was nice spotting and I did enjoy the flight sequences.

Was the same for me in Nottingham - parents with toddlers going in and out. Using cinema as babysitting and disrupting everyone else is not cool.

i was at nottingham & while a toddler had to go out 3 times & a small lad ran down the steps a couple of times, hardly cause to pull your hair out.

warm day....stay cool.

as for film, despite running time, seemed rushed...stalag scenes dealt with in 2 minutes. no time to get to know & differentiate between characters, therefore not really invested in their fate.

acting ok, except for cuba´s pipe work :)

would have made a better tv mini series ala band of brothers.

I don't actually think it's 'cool' to take toddlers or small children to this type of film it was a 12A, it's not fair on the child to expect them to stay quiet and still when they are probably bored out of their minds, had the parents had to p*y I very much doubt they would have purchased a ticket for them to go. I took my older children, only after they had watched the trailers and found out a little more about the film so I knew they were interested in it. Everytime that toddler went out they disrupted someones view and the small lad going up and down the stairs was probably very distracting. I was unfortunate enough to be seated next to the exit for the Ladies today and we did find it quite distracting with a steady stream of heads bobbing up and down in front of us.

Had it been a child's film and a U certificate then I don't think it's such a big deal, but this certainly wasn't.

I think this is a good point, probably would have led to more depth to the characters and been some room for the struggle to get to where they were.

Agreed Rainey, not a film for toddlers i left both mine at home as i don't want to be put off by restless children during a film and i am sure others don't either,

I only take my girls to movies which are age appropriate for them otherwise none of us enjoy the day out ;)

Yes, it's very strange to have the ladies' loo entrance inside the screening room while the gents' is outside. I heard one small child crying at some point but apart from that thankfully there wasn't any disturbance where we were seated. I have experienced it a quite a bit at the Cineworld O2 though, and I agree, it's not cool.

I forgot to say, we got shiny cardboard invitations for the film at the entrance to the cinema in exchange for our SFF printouts which I thought was a nice touch (not as nice as free breakfast would have been though...)

Celini - you a 7 and me an 8.5 - is that near enough agreeing? o/

I was expecting a big crowd outside, food and drink, buzz of some description (like with Alvin and The Chipmunks @ Empire L.SQ) but it was a bit of an anti-climax!

The film did make my spine tingle for some reason.

Some people walked in with the laminated tickets (did they give some out in the square?)

¨had the parents had to p*y I very much doubt they would have purchased a ticket for them to go¨

had i had to p*y, i very much doubt i would have purchased a ticket for me to go...not my cup of iced tea.

¨small lad going up and down the stairs was probably very distracting¨

no, looked over, thought ´hey, there´s a small lad having fun on a sunday morning, yes in a cinema which is showing a film for which i, or no one else has pa*d for, that´s nice, i bet that german with the scar gets his comeuppance, why are baddies still depicted as physically unattractive, mmm...pork for dinner, i like pork´

that´s what i thought.

It was the official multi-media screening so SFF would not have been the only source for tickets. I guess press and bloggers were invited first, and SFF was an after-thought.

I went in, exchanged my print outs for the nice shiny tickets then decided to pop back out for refreshments when we found popcorn was £7 and a drink £3
on the way back in I said we already have tickets and was then asked if I was press and was about to be given some kind of handout until I said no we weren't.

Thanks for reminding me. I get to read through all those wonderful press note tomorrow. I bet they're all very enthralling and not completely inane...
