Of all the films to try and fight your way into. I mean I would do that for Iron Man 3, but not for Oblivion
:bwl: seriously your comment made me LOLZ!

I was lucky that my friend gave me tickets to watch this at Wimbledon. I got there around 5:50PM thinking I can slowly walk and so went up the escalators and BAM! I saw Ben & Jerrys and kept trying to see what flavours I wanted to pick. I got my free ice cream and I was just about to sit down to wait for my friend and then I was like 8O holy crap there's a massive queue already! Queued up and went in and saw two seats right at the back (the very last row) so grabbed those because I knew if I didn't and looked for "better" ones I would certainly get the seats right at the front. Watched the short Virgin film and ate my free ice cream and free popcorn. Now to the film, I thought it was so slowwww..then about 3/5 of the film it became clearer but also more confusing (for me anyways). I thought the effects and scenery were pretty cool. Then the ending was predictable and not predictable because there was some twist and I wasn't certain if I got it right? Overall I would give it 5.8/10. I think mainly Tom Cruise being topless helped towards that rating :p . I did get teary in one part. Would I watch this again? Doubt it (maybe just for the topless bit).

Saw this tonight at Holloway Odeon. Lovely to see PXC and Funthing but I have to say what a palaver tonight with ticket balls up and too small a screening so people had to be turned away.

On the plus side free popcorn, ice cream and a huge hot dog. As for the ice cream I went up 3 times. I think I overdosed on the Ben & Jerry's tonight.

Visually the film was stunning. The story was fine with a few twists which thinking back all the hints were there. The three main actors of Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko and especially Andrea Riseborough were good. Morgan Freeman did his usual workman like turn.

The film follows quite a linear course until near the end where there is a flash back scene which really works for the film. The ending could have been braver in my mind and more bleak but then again this is a Hollywood film.

Not everyone is going to like Sci Fi but this is quite an intelligent Sci Fi movie. Some action and not too much Tom Cruise running everywhere. For me Joesph Kosinski has made a far superior film in this than in Tron Legacy. What both films share is beautiful visuals. This film however has a far better story.

Back from a packed Braehead. Very slick, most of the acting was good but the first part setting up of Jack and Victoria felt a bit over long. Usual Hollywood wrap up and I had guessed the plot before it became apparent but the scenery and machinery kept my interest. DH and DD both enjoyed it and free icecream was a bonus. Peanut butter cup is lush! Good to see the Glasgow FMUK'ers too!

I did wonder what happened
to the other jack from the moment he left him tied up. and also what about the 50 (at least) other Jack & Victorias working in their towers?
Thinking about using up my final imax pass to use up on a second viewing ( if it's on at the imax screen).

The other
Jack (57)who gets tied up is reunited with Julia and the kid. No idea about the other cloned couples though. With no mission control probably just chilling by their pools in the sky.
Inadvertently arrived at Wimbledon at 5:40 to find a small queue already in place. The cinema was packed and boiling hot. Loved the scenery and gadgets, hated the 'story' and had lost the will to live by the end. Free Ben & Jerry's was the highlight of the visit.

Interesting mash up of Gattaca, The Matrix and Terrahawks. One in a long line of recent films that would have benefited from being 20 mins shorter. Still, 7/10 for my favourite scientologist. And my thanks to Ben & Jerry for the diabetes.

You can't say that this wasn't an event!

We got there insanely early as I had a hunch. Got our free icecream and started the queue. Were joined by shmile a little later, were then asked to form a proper queue and barked at to turn our mobiles off when entering the screen. Cliveas then asked me to keep 2 seats which I duly did. Turned out there were 3 people in the end, but I did all I could! When we were allowed in, it filled up very quickly, I nearly lost OH on the way in and the Virgin lady almost couldn't find any sweet popcorn for him. We were reminded about 4 times to have our phones switched off and the security guy pounced on shmile and told her if she didn't switch it off now she would be ejected. The film hadn't even started yet! Then we had some kerfuffle going on behind us at the start of the film with the Virgin lady trying to find seats for the overspill of people, and discussing it rather loudly with the security guy. I found that I have no compunction about shushing officials! It looks like some people were turned away, no idea whether they were compensated.

The film was mindless fun with loads of Cruise Control to Major Tom, and some unintentionally funny lines. "Are we gonna die?" "NO! - Maybe..."
Then a voice in the dark started to talk and it sounded really a lot like Morgan Freeman - oh look, it IS Morgan Freeman! He got the immortal line (about a drone): "That is one pissed-off weapon." There were a few more diamonds but they have escaped me right now. Tom Cruise really loves to do that heroic stuff with a straight face - and don't we all love him for it. It might not make any sense but it's a truckload of fun, especially when you suddenly have loads of Tom Cruises.

It was only about 20 minutes shorter than the Beyond Ryan Gosling film but time flies when you are having fun.

Now, if anyone could tell me what that film was actually about....

Pretty damn great I thought - and what an outstanding score by M83. I thought the film was skating on thin ice plotwise at times, but they just about pulled it off. I thought it worked in spite of Tom Cruise being in it though.
The only major plot hole was the humans on earth dressing up like weird helmeted aliens - I imagine if they'd have just kept their helmets off and introduced themselves to Tom Cruise they'd have had an easier time of catching him.
