We were also at Islington Vue last night. I didn't think much of this--possibly because I expected a lot more and it fell short. The Nordic TV stuff is of such high quality and this was overly long and not very well done. The ending felt like an add-on and a hint at the following film which was unnecessary.

Happy to see tsoiboy who joined us in the back row and upheld the integrity of an FMUK cohort. Three girls came up and asked a lady to move so they could all sit together. She did so begrudgingly (and quite right too -- the three girls could have separated and not been so awkward). All I could think of was that was Beate's favourite seat and she would not have given it up so easily!

I didn't make it to the 02 until 6.50pm - had a chuckle at Beate's 'ridiculously late' 6.10pm arrival, that sounds positively early to me! I do normally aim for 6pm-ish to get decent seats but can't usually justify arriving any earlier to sit and wait. The weather was particularly lovely so we took a gamble, accepting that we may sit towards the front but it wasn't full and we managed to get ok seats at the back of the front section.

There seemed to be so many walk outs that we could have upgraded our seats 30 mins into the film! Personally I liked it. It did feel a bit too long and some of the main character's motivations seemed 'off' - i couldn't read him, was he a hero or a villain? We only got glimpses of his background but it was clear he was a duplicitous man. I haven't read the book but thanks kevinknapman for explaining the sister angle in more detail under the spoiler. They should have made room for it and seriously edited other parts. I think it would have been a better film.

I recognised Jorge from his recent role in The Borgias. I thought Joel Kinnaman was good in the lead role. Glad I gave it a chance, don't think it deserved all the walk outs. 7/10.
