Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Can someone recap the first 5 minutes for me please? I had a minor accident on the way to the cinema, plus got lost, so I missed a little.
I walked in where Steve and Sam were chatting, possibly after running together?
I was quite near the front, but was it just me, or was the 3D blurry? Particularly writing (e.g. car reg plates) or other fine detail.
Regarding Nick Fury...
After Agent Coulson was literally brought back from the dead post Battle of New York, I didn't find his "death" plausible for a second. Shame, it made it less tense than it could have been. I did enjoy the car chase though, always fun seeing a senior agent in the field.
I'm glad I got to see this, but mainly because I'm an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D fan and seeing these films help me with continuity!

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Well, Edinburgh was quite busy.
We had little kids behind us and they guzzled, crunched and munched the entire 2.5 hours. Pretty annoying.
Film bored me. Too long, far too violent.
5/10 from me. Didn't like it much. Chris Evans is very wooden in my humble opinion.

Not as wooden as Andrew Garfield - seen in Spidey trailer tonight!alythonian wrote:Well, Edinburgh was quite busy.

Did you spot the two kids in full Captain America costumes? Thought they stole the show!

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I thought this to be a weak addition to the Avengers franchise and a poor follow-up to The First Avenger. I am on the verge of putting it on par with Iron Man 2 as that is how it compares to the other Marvel superhero films in my view.
Everything about it was so pedestrian. Where was the fun? Where were the witty one liners? The villain was dull and forgettable, the plot was bogged down with too much exposition, there were no memorable action sequences, the 3D seemed pointless and there were stretches of the film where I was rather bored. 6/10.
I did think Stan Lee's cameo this time was better than in previous films.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
What is wrong with you people, saying not so nice things about my favourite Avenger and my beloved Andrew Garfield in the same thread!
I absolutely loved this to pieces. Probably my fav Avenger film after the first Captain America. full review tomorrow when I'm on a computer and not my phone.
9/10
Thanks prettyxcool for saving seats!

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The boy and I really enjoyed this tonight, I agree that the 3D was pointless and the very first action sequence was so quick my eyes couldn't keep up and it all seemed a bit of a dizzy blur, but that aside I thought it was great, as did my son, in the 11 years old's words 'that film was awesome'!
Hatfield was almost full, we were there early and let in at 17.45, we were also read the switch everything off notice and were told by the security on the way in to switch phones off and if they were so much as seen as on we'd be asked to leave. They also spoke to the parents of a child with flashing lights on her shoes, I think they made her take them off!

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The two kids in the Captain America costumes were sitting outside the screening with us before we got in. There was also a man wearing a Captain America t-shirt.
Who was the guy who welcomed us to the screening - surely he should have introduced himself if he was making a speech??
For me the film was too long and some of the fight scenes made me feel a bit dizzy. The 3D was rather a waste of time. Not a film I would watch again. 5/10

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
pointless 3D as usual, for the first 20 mins or so everything seemed blurry apart from the person in the foreground. It did seem to settle down after that.
Now I'm not a Captain America fan but I really enjoyed this. Some great fight scenes and good banter between the Black Widow and Captain A. I agree about Nick Fury though.
The Winter Soldier was a bit of alright
REally cross with Wimbledon as people were coming in over 30 mins late. I swear a group of 3 rocked up after 7pm and stood around decided where to sit

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
a thick juicy (yet surely improbable) plot but weak on script. plenty of effects.
Basically another fair stay-busy movie for Phase2.
