It wouldn't help anyway, you have to be a student with a Slackers Club card

Lets lower expectations first....it did bomb at the box office when it opened in the States
and that Orange Ad is a little tacky?

Oh no! Though imdb says 7.5/10! I guess I'll have to lower my expectations! 8O

Just seen this at a very packed empire Leicester square after winning a competition! Went in with low expectations and came out thinking the movie wasn't as bad as I thought. It started off slow but then I started getting into it. Not bad though some bits could have been better. 7/10

It must have been one of the worst beginnings to a reboot of a franchise in recent years. It was slow, it wasn't clever, it didn't gel together. It was meant to explain how the characters came together (bumping into someone in the middle of a desert anyone?). I also felt the characters were cast very averagely, the best was Bradley Cooper, he seemed to be the only one having fun and enjoying the ride.
I was prepared for the worst, but the film does pick up considerably in the middle. Look out for the ridiculous scene with a tank vs fighter planes. Yes it's ridiculous and OTT but its the kind of fun action scene you expect in a a summer action film. It did sustain my interest until the end, but I must say they've really missed a trick here. This is one of those films where they could have actually made the film much much better with 3D (unlike something like Shrek Forever After). Alot of the action scenes involved planes/helicopters/gunfire could really have been enhanced with the 3D treatment, I saw it near the front at Empire Leicester Square and the huge screen made the action even more exciting and my gosh the sound effects were incredibly loud.
At the beginning of the film, an annoucement was made for us to stay behind for special guests and I thought oh Liam Neeson's coming or something like that. Alas noooo, they meant stay behind for some special guests on screen after the end credits; so don't run off when you start seeing the credits. There's just something about this film that meant it didn't work whether its the script, the cast, the directing, but it's good summer action movie fun. 6.5/10
