Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
No alternative offered at the Tunbridge Wells screening, Manager didn't seem very concerned about the disapointed children. He advised me that I should e-mail Show Film First if I was unhappy as his Cinema only rented the screen to them and they had no other obligation (I can't imagine that he has children of his own).

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
WAs at Braehead Odeon and glad that those who did get turned away were offered a different film. The film itself was awesome. Great twist to a classic tale. You probably heard my chuckles throughout the film, Cheeksdevil. Were you about 4 or 5 rows from the front? With children's films I never expect much from a plot anyway. 3D definitely a let down. Tangled was much better. But on the whole I enjoyed myself and so did the rest of my party.

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
The staff were very good, the duty manager was very good at offering an alternative. Looks like there was a mass stuff up by SFF though with other cinemas having the same problems.

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
saw it at Manchester Trafford today we got there for about 10:30 and went straight in to the screening even then it was 70% full managed to get 4 seats together but around 50+ were turned away but given a complimentary film a lot of people were dissapointed and the screen size was only small all in all 6/10 a good handleing from odeon but bad handleing from show film first as yet agiain they had over allocted tickets!!!
something needs to be changed with that

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
Took a wee trip over the Forth Bridge to Fife to see this in Dunfermline this morning a there were no Edinburgh tickets. We got there in the same time it usually takes us to get to the Odeon at Wester Hailes on the west side of Edinburgh!
It was about 70% full. Loads of kids chucking popcorn everywhere - I've never seen such a messy cinema in my life, although they did behave when the film started.
I didn't see the point of 3D at all, but the film was OK.
I enjoyed the Elton John songs, much better than the usual awful Disney songs.
5/10 from me, but I'm not 6. I guess if I was I would give it 8!!

I was one of them; I was deciding whether to watch another film or just go shopping and you told us all to follow you which we did and we got tickets for A Little Bit of Heaven, what a tear jerker. You were fabulous thank you so much I was actually going to p*y to see another film. I will say Hi next time I see you but I didn't know that you were Star which you are.Star wrote:Went to see this today at Manchester Trafford, we got there about 10:40 (start time 11:00) and made to queue with around 50+ other people waiting to go in. Only to be told 10mins later the film was full, it was first come first served so tough luck. A lot of very unhappy people and crying children, most people just left. I complained strongly and managed to get us to be allowed to go and watch something else, along with the group of people standing around me whilst arguing the point. They would have been better saying to everybody at the start they could go and see something else, as they lost a fortune on all the refunds they had to give for drinks and popcorn people had already b*ght.

Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
Saw this in a 60% full Bristol screening. It may appeal to younger children, but I personally struggled with it. The 3D aspect was poor, and it has none of the charm and imagination of 'Tangled'....4/10.
Re: Gnomeo & Juliet 3D
Thoroughly enjoyed Gnomeo and Juliet and will definitely be recommending it to everyone! The fact that they've remade Romeo and Juliet for a younger audience is absolutely brilliant the idea alone was great and they've really come up trumps with the movie.
Agree about the 3D though but doesn't this seem to be happening with almost all 3D movies these days?!? I think they're just trying to ease it in so it's the 'norm' to encourage us to be b*ying 3D tv's.
One of the only nitpicks I have really is the fact that too much of the comedy was given away in the trailers, they really should of held back on that front; by the time the funny bits came along I just wasn't tickled.

So glad you were one of the ones who I was able to help. I don't seem to have much luck at that Odeon, what with the hassle with them trying to charge me for 3D glasses, them starting films 30mins early and now this lol. You must say hello if you see me again, I can't remember what you look like sorry, as I was pretty wound up lol :)Diane65 wrote:I was one of them; I was deciding whether to watch another film or just go shopping and you told us all to follow you which we did and we got tickets for A Little Bit of Heaven, what a tear jerker.
