Beate would love this evening. So, so much free food to eat!

We arrived at the event and was greeted with drinks and non-stop canapes (little fried bread with red peppers, scotch egg risotto balls, and chicken on a stick, after an hour, we were welcomed with a 2 minute intro speech and then asked either to go on the tour of the building or go straight upstairs to the Great Hall, where there were stalls waiting for us with more food and drinks, and a band played music in the background. There were a stall with fishcakes, prawns and salad, and crab balls, another stall with thai beef, chicken or vegetarian, a stall with beef pie, fish pie, and in the centre a conveyor belt serving plates and plates of pork, duck, salads, etc, and finally a stall to design your own Eton Mess - with marscapone, choc chip, brownies, pineapple, berries, nuts, etc. so many ingredients I can't remember and at each stall, different types of drinks available. It was a help yourself and eat as much as you like! My goodness was I stuffed! ;)

I am sure I would have but they wouldn't have OH and I wasn't feeling all that well so preferred to sit in the dark and watch a film. I even forgot about Henry's Launch Night on the way home, LOL.

I hope you're feeling better Beate. There were so many no-shows, I am sure I could have sneaked OH in for you! It is a large place and one more would not have made any difference, anyway.

I thought they said there were stalls in different parts of the building, I totally missed all that, they only had the bread with red peppers at the beginning and then I had to go off to a meeting somewhere else and then had to go to Shoreditch for another function. And there I was thinking what a terribly organised corporate event! And my friend was saying just wine and juice! We really should have stayed longer....

I was thinking that too - me and my friend were thinking to stick around till about 7pm as it was so boring and rubbish, then at 6.30pm they made that little welcome speech, after which we all went upstairs to the Great Hall! And wow! Pleasantly surprised!

Grr...but well done for sticking it out pxc! You were rewarded for your patience. I don't think I would have stayed even if I wasn't in a rush.
There can't have been that many people left at 7?
