It serves a very practical purpose here! hehe. Our redundancy consultation meetings can't go ahead as the Head of HR can't get into the office from Brighton! hohoho, which means we can work here longer .....

It has snowed and snowed here for days now. It is brilliant sunshine just now, but still well below freezing, so it is not melting at all. I cleared a pathway to the house for the first few days, but then gave up. The car is parked on the road, but even then had to get a push to get it going (well, I probably could have got it going, but the neighbours wanted to help). The kids have been sent home from school again, and my neighbours, who were having a weekend in Paris on Eurostar have yet to reappear.

The ducks (from the nearby pond) are camping out at my back door, and my cats are not venturing beyond the door. The bin men have just been, but they just looked and did not take the bins away. Maybe there was too much snow on them.

I saw this link online to the best snow scenes from the movies. Couldn't find it posted anywhere - anyone got other suggestions?

Went into school today trudging through the thick snow feeling very ill. A couple of my friends were simply leaving so I followed them but got caught out by a couple of teachers. I decided I still wasn't well enough anyway so went to the medical room to get permission to leave. Now revising maths :(

Being waiting for Argos delivery of furnitures 2nd day running now but each time they have called to say delivery cannot be made. I wonder why? ;) At least they called early without me calling them. Tick point for Argos there.

Yes, at least they let you know, Mr G. It's surprising which services are still working and which aren't. Some deliveries are getting through and others not. Today I saw my first snowplough since the snow arrived here, 3 days ago. It was hurtling along the road and sprayed me with dirty slush, so I wasn't impressed!

Snow is really deep in Edinburgh and getting colder here in the east of Scotland as you will have seen on the news. Went to bed last night and just dozing off when there was a terrific "rumbling" noise and the snow from the roof of our building came crashing down. Luckily no one was out there at the time as they could have been hurt with the amount of snow that fell.

So much snow here that even the grandchildren are fed up with it and wish it would go away!!

I think we should get a petition to make snow prohibited by law as it serves no practical purpose -

The kids are loving it, after years of talculm powder flurries they've finally got tons to play with, have you played yet Beate??
if you must ski, use an indoor slope, LOL
.

Skiers are becoming a popular sight around the streets of Edinburgh, certianly an easier and quicker way to get about but should they use the roads or footpaths??
