Well, I thought I'll try out Oyster month travel card for the first time as you get insured for loss/theft unlike the paper version. But I keep getting over charged through my normal top up as I started going back to "school" in Northolt. I b*y a zone 2-5 travelcard and my journey is exactly through those zones via 2 trains and 1 tube. But the damn oyster is charging my normal top up £3.60 a day because its assuming I am going through zone 1. Speak to the staff, they just tell me to call Oyster. So I call Oyster, and they tell me speak to the Underground staff as their system is at fault...hmmm! But I do what they say, and I speak to someone who tells me, to hit my oyster card onto the pink machines at every station I change at. So I try that next day, but none of the stations have a pink machine. I even asked an Inspector at Clapham junction, who told me, there is nothing I could do, and get this, he even tells me to start going through zone 1 as I wont get caught! An inspector is telling me to do what he would be fining people for doing!?! So I call Oyster again and this time they say there really isnt anything I can do but to keep calling them for a refund...:( I have an 6 week intense diploma course thats with exams every week. I could have done without this time consuming Oyster balava. I'm already seeing a few more strands of grey hairs on my head (ironic that I'm training to be a PT including how to illeviate stress!)

Of course you can, that's what we are all here for!!!!!!!!!

I read your original post, it's so irritating, I totally feel your pain. The numerous times you spend calling them is the same price as what the tickets worth in the end! It's so f**king annoying, I feel like breaking their machines.

It took me four months to get back a refund of £1.20 in which they said they returned as a gesture of good will to which I replied "f**k your gesture of good will, it was MY money that was RIGHTLY owned to me! That's the difference. I hate it when people "gesture of good will" me especially when they are in the wrong.

I'd say start getting a monthly if it's cheaper. I do that sometimes when I can't be bothered to argue. I don't even know why people like arguing with me as I don't back down if I feel... correction if I know I'm right.

You go get em glassy! Hows your course coming along?

No, a_person, you sound like a lovely person!

Poor you MrGlass - yes, how frustrating. Have your registered your card online, as it keeps a record of all your journeys for the last 8 weeks - then you can make a claim at the end to save you the stress of doing it every week? They do refund pretty quickly though, once you have spoken to them, the next time you swipe your card, or I think you can ask for a cheque.

What film marathon are you doing, Beate? Wish I can have a lie in.

Oh grrr how frustrating MrGlass! I truly hate things like that. You are in the right, everyone knows it but no one will actually fix the problem. It drives me insane!

Breathe in, breathe out... ;)

Mr Glass: Oyster can be a right pain in the butt sometimes.

My aunty has a PAYG one and she always writes down how much she spends, so it was a bit of a shock to find an extra £5 off her ticket. She asked for a list of her journeys and among them were several trips at 3am/4am on the 205... Now my aunty goes to bed at about 10pm!!! Don't ask me why... she just does.

Oyster were rubbish and offered £10 goodwill and she complained to a higher authority, the guy who worked there used to work for London Transport, so I felt he was biased.

He said Oyster rarely makes mistakes. Aunty said 'Oyster rarely makes mistakes, or do you mean that often people don't check their card?' He said people do check their card, because they complain when mistakes are made... Err matey doesn't that contradict what you said about Oyster rarely makes mistakes?!

So the moral of the story is.. well there is none really, just Oyster/TFL can be cr*p.
